PLAYABLE ART Helicone - Executive Edition

I bought this for my wife to have in her office at work. It's really a beautiful unique piece of art as well as a interesting conversation piece with the fibonacci influences. Its very well built with a base that's perfect for a desk. It's design immediately draws your attention and I had way too much fun staring at the pattern as its very mesmerizing so be ready for that. My wife thought it was an awesome gift (I got husband points so bonus for me). Price is higher than I would have liked but the quality and design were worth it in my opinion. Very cool.

Definitely a cool toy to mess around with. Fun small gift idea. A little fragile so keep that in mind if you have small children or a dog

This is a beautiful piece of art as well as fun. It seems a bit delicate so we do not allow children to play with it. I bought a plastic one for the kids to play with. It is pricy, but I think it is worth it as it is so beautiful.

Playable art indeed! The helicone is a wonderful toy that continually fascinates despite its simple function. It's great fun to show to friends or to use in quiet meditation. Build quality is very solid and precise, although perhaps not to be treated carelessly. The action isn't as simple as in the video, but you'll get it with some practice – it's all in the wrist!

It’s very a opting to get it to look good, smaller than expected and prices become loose so you lose your design.

I love having this on my desk. It's fun to use and look at. The box it came in is neat and sturdy and it would be a great gift as a moveable piece of art.

I had plastic version of this that was pretty fun. The kids did a number on it, so I thought I would get this more expensive, nicer-looking version. I got it out and found that it was very difficult to get it to switch between the two modes. The wood has a high friction and you have to use two hands and really crank it to get it to go. With the plastic version, you could just use one hand and easily have it snap back and forth. The whole point of these things is to move! Was disappointed and returned mine.

The tree shape does not form up possibly due to friction between the pieces, so when turning it just ends in a mess. The price is really just for looking nice in a box.

J’apprécie ce produit : à la frontièrere entre art, science et technologie. Ce produit n’a pas d’autre fonction que le plaisir à le manipuler ou le contempler. Il est très bien réalisé, et l’emballage du fabricant est lui aussi soigné. Par contre, la livraison en France est encore une catastrophe : colis jeté par dessus la clôture pendant mon absence, carton extérieur défoncé. Heureusement, l’intérieur était sous papier bulles très efficace.

MAIS déjà une pièce de bois (celle du haut) s'est détachée.... pour un objet de ce prix c'est vraiment dommage...
