Great game
Favorite game of all time. Exotic and novel, thrilling and curious with just enough narrative. I've bought this game numerous times as gifts to share it with others.

Great adventure game with wonderful graphics
I love this game. I do not care for games where you must kill or fight to get where you need to go. Although there are some trials where monsters might get me, they are like a good scary movie, not blood and guts. I played the freedom version first and will play it again in the hard mode. I highly recommend this game and look forward to version two. If you love adventure, this is your game.

Fun ocean horror game
Great game on PlayStation. Controls feel a little sensitive but I can probably change that in settings. Very fun so far

Survival game done right
Overall amazing game. There IS a definite end to the game- atypical of the survival genre. Gameplay mechanics are easy to learn and exploration is engrossing. Casual players and speed runners can get a lot out of this game. One of the easiest games in regards to trophies/achievements. Hardcore mode adds a needed level of complexity. -My ONE and ONLY complaint- New areas often require a bit to render properly. I've found myself clipping walls in the deeper areas and as a result my submersibles have been destroyed/maimed. Clipping can also result in a glitch where the player slowly sinks into the abyss, resulting in a slow death. Also, there is no autosave. Save often, or lose hours of work. 9/10, would buy again. Will be buying the next 2019 installment. 100%.

Exploration and danger
All in all, this was the most fun I've had with a game in quite a while. It gets buggy as heck once you have a decent amount of stuff collected, so be prepared for that, and it's a bit directionless in the beginning. But otherwise a very good game with a great story.

Heerlijke game om te spelen. Items zoeken en verzamelen, base bouwen en de wereld ontdekken. Levert soms prachtige beelden op. Soms even zoeken naar wat je nu moet doen, verhaallijn stopt soms even.

Molto bello anche se è un po' difficoltoso capire come proseguire a metà trama. Grafica e controlli molto buoni. Consigliato a tutte le età, non è assolutamente un gioco violento

Ignore people writing reviews saying the game doesn't save or that it crashes. These are incorrect; the game saves fine and I haven't had it crash once. It does freeze/stutter (at times) when I surface for air, but I've had no other performance issues following the very quick post-launch patch. Subnautica is brilliant, a beautiful, immersive, underwater survival sim that does away with the handholding of most modern games. I looked up a couple of YouTube starter videos to get a hang of crafting the basic tools and survival equipment and would highly recommend Jade Plays Games. The game does direct players through radio messages, so keep checking the Habitat Pod for new messages. This will probably be my Game of the Year for 2018. Subnautica can be relaxing, tense, surprising, unforgiving, wondrous and highly rewarding. It's a game like no other with diverse biomes, alien creatures, open ocean, deep sea caves, kelp forests, grassy plains, thermal vents and loads of discoveries. Once you get a grip of crafting food/water, your most important tool is the scanner. Learn to scan everything possible and the player quickly comes across new survival blueprints. I'm between 6-7 hours into the game and about to build my first base (or attempt at one). I still feel, however, as though I've only just scratched the surface of what it has to offer. I've also witnessed two in game events which will stick in my mind for days (maybe even weeks) to come. The story, despite being told indirectly without cutscenes, has quality voice acting and has genuinely held my interest. If you love quality/survival games and don't mind the lack of tutorials, I can't recommend Subnautica enough.
