We decided these would be a great gift for our wedding party and fun addition to the reception. As a bonus, I convinced the boss that we should get one for each of us. I ordered one first to see if I liked it before ordering the rest, and I'm glad I did. I wanted the none polished horn and that is what I received. I really like it, it's tough looking and fits me. So we ordered more. Guess there was some confusion and we mistakenly ordered the polished horns the second time, which was a pleasant surprise to be honest. When I think of polished, I think of the cheap looking plastic horns that you buy at theme parks, but these have some texture left on them and I actually think they look better. To address some of the complaints here - The smell: Yeah, you're drinking from a horn, that came from a dead animal, that lived outside... It has a smell to it. I stuck ours in a plastic tote with a bunch of baking soda for about a week and then gave them a good wash. WASH THEM FIRST. Some of them have a twist/curve to the horn and getting to the very bottom is a little tricky, you'll want to get a brush and scrub down there because there was some gunk at the bottom of the a couple. Soak in vinegar, wash off, you're set. The taste: Wash it well and it's not an issue. The volume: It varied, some held over 2 cups, some closer to 1. I do really like the brass around the edge, but a couple had some snags. Quick fix with a knife. Overall, it's a great product and it looks pretty cool.

Love this. Bought for my husband and brother in law for their bonfire nights. Great quality and beautiful workmanship. It's a piece of artwork yet totally usable. Great price and comes in it's own bag. Sits perfectly on the table and easy to handle.

Extremely nice drinking horn. Great size, and real nice color. Mostly smooth finish, one tiny little rough spot but nothing to complain about for the price. Others have mentioned a smell. Mine have ZERO smell to it at all. Just gonna rinse it out and ready to use. Well worth it.

This is super cool looking but I guess I thought it would be a little bigger and more rugged looking. It is nice and smooth.

Back in June of 2019 I purchased the hot beverage mug for my Son for Father's Day. It didn't seem very sturdy where the handle met the mug and it worried me on the true quality and how much use he might actually get using it everyday for the cost. I posted a review expressing that they might strengthen the handle or at least look to improve that feature. Months went by and then I received an email addressing my issues about the problem and their desire to make things right. I was very impressed that they contacted me directly. In fact they mailed out a New Improved Version addressing my exact comments. I since had moved from California to Virginia so I contacted them to give my forward address. They immediately responded by sending a new ale horn hot mug to my current address at zero additional cost to me! Since, My Son has used the new mug everyday he loves the high quality and artistic sturdyness of this new version! We are most certainly going to rate their customer service as Excellent, above and beyond our expectations! I personally want to re-write my review and recommend this product as superior in quality, a great value and above all outstanding customer service. It is a great gift! I got this as a birthday present for my husband and it was absolutely the most amazing gift for a man who loves Viking stuff. It came with a pre use care sheet that honestly came in so handy because it does come with a smelly smell. The smell went away after doing the pre use care and my husband gets all giddy whenever he gets to use it for drinking. It comes a beautiful stand that makes it easy to set down or display. It also holds a good amount of liquid and is very soft to the touch.

We love this company! It all started when I joked to my husband that I wanted to channel my inner Shield Maiden and let my Viking roots shine but needed to have a Viking Sounding Horn to do so, so that I could call our four kids in when they are out running the neighborhood. He found this company and ordered me one (In June 2018) to do just that. The neighbors get a kick out of it and if our kids don’t hear it and they do they send them straight home. Then last Christmas I ordered my husband and I both Authentic Viking Drinking Horns from AleHorn. They were beautiful and came in stands so that we can keep them out on display for all to see and are always a topic of discussion. This year my husband ordered me this Grande AleHorn Mug Tankard so I can use it for my cold or hot drinks. The coloring on it, just like our other pieces, is like and fingerprint, and is unique from one piece to another. It’s impeccably made and it fits perfectly under the Keurig. I’ll look like one bad mama sipping out of this while on the sidelines at my kids soccer games or while waiting in car line. If you are a Viking by blood or just a Viking enthusiast this will be the perfect piece to add to your cupboard or bar!
