Best Phenyx Pro wireless mic system I’ve used
I’ve had several Phenyx Pro products and I have to admit this is one of the best I’ve tried so far. Working with a lot of musicians who are often on a budget, the Phenyx gear seems to fit the bill. But I have seen many of them all trying to work in the crowded 900MHz range. So this one being in the 500MHz range helps this unit perform better around other devices. I was quite impressed by the handheld unit as well. Most of the shell is metal so when I picked it up, it actually felt like a wireless Shure 58. I have a ULXD system for comparison and this felt very similar to that. The handheld actually sounded very clean. The recessed power / mute button is an improvement over previous Phenyx handhelds. I use these systems for speeches and wedding ceremonies so handing a mic to someone who has never (or rarely uses) a mic can be a nightmare when they keep muting it. This system is almost impossible to accidentally mute so that’s an improvement. The belt pack is lightweight but that’s because it’s mostly plastic. The clip is really good but I almost worry that the strong tension of the clip might put strain on the plastic housing. I guess we’ll see how resilient it is over time. The headset mic sounds good but probably not good for a user who moves around a lot. For instance, if a fitness instructor were trying to use this headset, forget about it. It’s meant more for a more static person. The lapel mic is hot! Don’t let the user get anywhere near the PA. Ask me how I know! Overall, the biggest complaint would really be just the build quality of the body pack. If the pack were built as sturdy as the handheld, this system would be spectacular for the price. As long as you use it for the purposes it was designed, and don’t expect it to be as great as a $1300 Shure ULXD system, you’re going to like it. Good range, decent battery life, decent frequency bandwidth to find one that works, and a fantastic price for what you get. I’m actually going to get rid of the Shure BLX system I was using because the PTU-71-1H1B is so much better in so many ways.

This is a great microphone and I highly recommend it.
Phenyx PTU wireless Microphone System. I had gotten out of being in a full time band and have been looking for a great alternative to the wireless 4 mic setup that I had. I had been looking and looking when I came across this setup and was intrigued, I pulled the trigger and placed the order. Upon arrival I busted the box open like the koolaid man coming through the wall and was super excited to see what was before me. The Microphone is a metal and very sturdy well made mic, everything seems to be great. I hooked it up the mic in my opinion has a killer tone and captures my voice greatly, I tried moving around, didn't have any lag or connection issues, I live in a camper so I stepped outside and the connection stayed the same through the walls, which is something to say, I often have issues with electronics passing through the walls. The Lapel and headset mic's both work great, they are a little hot but with some adjustments I found a greatly useable sound. The main issue I found with the entire setup was the battery door on the body pack is a little laking, somewhat flimsy and a little hard to open and close, other than that the LED displays are easily seen on the mic, body pack and the reciever box itself. All in all I would recommed this setup and will be using it in my personal musical endeavors.

Excellent Wireless Mic System for Small Churches
I serve as a worship leader at a small church, and our ministry has a strong emphasis on preaching and teaching Bible study. After a lot of research, I decided to try the Phenyx Pro PTU-71-1H1B with the headset mic, and it’s been a huge upgrade for us. The sound quality is clear and natural, which is exactly what we need for teaching the Word of God. People in the back of the sanctuary can now hear every word without straining, and several members have commented on how much easier it is to follow along during Bible study. The headset itself is lightweight and stays in place even when I’m moving around with my Bible and notes. It’s far more convenient than holding a microphone, especially for long teaching sessions. Setup was straightforward, and the system has worked flawlessly—no dropouts, no static, and plenty of range for our space. For any pastors or worship leaders serving in smaller churches with limited budgets, I highly recommend this system. It delivers reliable performance and professional-level clarity without breaking the bank. If your church values clear preaching and teaching, the Phenyx Pro PTU-71-1H1B is a great choice.

A great Microphone Solution at a GREAT PRICE!
This was my first time purchasing a PHENYX PRO Microphone and I was very pleased. I really like the sound quality and also the flexibility this system gives you. 1 handheld mic and one bodypack with a headset and a lapel. I am hoping to use this system for Wedding Ceremonies in the future but for now I will probably use the headset or lapel for making video reviews. :) Keep putting out great products at Great Prices! Thanks PHENYX!

Wireless Microphone System Won’t Break Bank
If you belong to a VERY SMALL church congregation, money is not plentiful, but you want to help mobilize the pastor and make his life better. Get this wireless microphone system and put a smile on his face! Great quality, excellent sound, great range, easy to operate. I cannot come up with even one negative comment. Fantastic price for the quality. My pastor was smiling a lot this morning after using this system.

Exactly what I was looking for
I'm a simple man when it comes to sound equipment. I want to use what is convenient and reliable. This mic set is that. My first test was using it in a high school theater to make announcements. It worked flawlessly. While I was primarily very close to the receiver, I also wanted to test it out over some distance. I walked back to the tech booth, using it inside the block-walled booth, out the theater doors, and around the hallway down the side to the back of the theater again. I never lost connectivity and the signal stayed strong and clear the whole time (probably 150-200 feet away, through walls). The build quality of the handheld is pretty good. We'll see how it holds up after more use. As is the case with most mic packs, the included headset is probably better suited for a DJ or a fitness instructor than a public speaker. However, that's not a big deal, as I always prefer to run a different headset anyway. Overall, I think this is a great value microphone for most applications.

My favorite Phenyx Pro Models
This unit is the smaller version of the PTU-7000 series and its just the same as it! I love the microphones, and love the features of the unit! You cannot go wrong with the ability to auto-scan for the best frequencies. The ability to RF connect the mic to the unit is super easy! The amount of setup time that can save can be crucial! As long as the equipment is well taken care of you won't have any issues! I rarely get drops outs, and when I do it's because I am too far away or have too many people in the way and my antennas are too low. Microphone and body pack weight are very comfortable! Along with their ability to not consume all of your batter life throughout an event! The PTU-7000 and PTU-71 units are be far my favorite microphones systems Phenyx Pro has to offer. I am saying this however without trying their PTAU-2 units yet. That is next on my list. My only gripe yet is the body packs. They are fragile and if mishandled can break easily. The back clip and the battery cover are the weak points. I have had the opportunity to try their PWB-12 for the PTU-1U/2U and that body pack is a significant upgrade. It would be cool to see if that body pack could become compatible with other microphones receivers. With that being said though, if you can take care of the bodypacks compatible with the PTU-71 and PTU-7000 units, you will not be disappointed with the sound quality and lack of dropouts.

Awful Sound Quality.
Unfortunately, this microphone has very poor sound quality. The audio is muffled and lacks clarity, making it difficult to understand without heavy EQ adjustments. To get it to sound even remotely acceptable, you’d need to run it through a professional mixer at all times. If you're aiming for that Charlie Brown-style, muted adult voice effect, this mic will deliver—otherwise, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
