Sharing a "secret" for best effectiveness.
Best product out there- and I tried MANY less expensive enzyme formulas before finding this one. Even the others by Nature's Miracle -for cats. If you follow the directions - it works pretty well, seems to solve the odor problem we humans detect BUT after a little while- cat will spray that spot again. BUT - here's the secret... if, after soaking/wet vac up as much of the urine as possible - you do one application, wet vac it out of carpet, then reapply solution to the spot (slightly wider than first soak) put baking soda a ¼ inch high over it, then put a damp towel over that to keep it moist 24 hrs. Phase two- scoop up baking soda, apply a little more solution, wet vac area - repeat until baking soda is gone and THEN for an hour or two, put DRY paper towels or cloth towels over it with something weighted on top of towels to soak up the remaining moisture. Let it air dry after all of those steps... Cat hasn't sprayed the spot again AND odor hasn't come back. It's been a year since I first tried this method. I don't know if the baking soda step can be eliminated- it's a pain to get it all out of the carpet, but I do know this combo works. (Always test an inconspicuous spot first with baking soda & solution - I tried the vinegar & baking soda on one spot & when resprayed- used this combo & it discolored it. I've cleaned the carpets since, and haven't had any other reactions that discolored carpet, but just giving a fair warning- always spot test first)

Classic formula shipped - Best Product, Best Price!
For those of you who don't like the "New and Improved" perfumed version of the Nature's Miracle series, the "MAXIMUS DEALS" shipped me what appears to be the classic formula which I find wonderful! There is a slight chemical smell when you spray and you'll smell the urine when first applied. Then it's to the stinky enzyme-working stage and then rinse. On absorbent items, 24-48 hours later absolutely no smell that I can perceive at all as long as you blot with a wet cloth as instructed. If it's a washable item, just treat the item 15 minutes before running the washer and you'll never have transfer to other items or the washer. With hard surfaces, wait 10-15 minutes after wetting, then rinse and all smell is gone instantly. I love to use this formula on our cat boxes as we have a very finicky feline that will poop outside the box (but still pees inside) if it is smelly at all. The plastic seems to absorb the ammonia and uric acid smell badly, so he'll even resist after fresh litter is put in. One quick spray with Nature's Miracle and wait 10-15 minutes before rinsing and viola! No ammonia, no urine, no perfume, no smell at all! Very little is needed to work, a gallon normally lasts us about 2 years with cleanings every 2 weeks. There seems to be no loss of potency of the product over this time frame. Great price too, our local grocery store sells Nature's Miracle in the quart spray bottle for $21! Buy the gallon here for about the same price!

Praise Dog, this turns my god's pee into...not so much pee.
Did you see what I did there, folks? Cause Dog is God backwards? Get it?! My wife and I have two dogs. One is a 9 year old pound dog of unknown and super mixed origin. When we got him at one of the Cook County shelters in Illinois, they informed us that he was "part husky." This was a lie, because we got that DNA test for him and it showed 0% husky. They told us that he was around 9 months old when we got him, which places his birthday at around Thanksgiving. Over time, I started to make up his backstory - that he wasn't this mangy stray found roaming the streets of Bridgeport at 31st and Archer, but instead - that he was a prestigious Christmas puppy that in the end, got given away because he was no longer cute. He has nothing to do with this review, but he is a pretty cool dog. We recently adopted a rescue dog. She's about a year old, and if you ask, "How much of a rescue is she?" the answer is "She was given back twice to the rescue, and spent an inordinately large amount of time at her most recent foster family." Now, why would anyone want such a strange specimen? After all, she can be stubborn, she gives me the stinkeye when I ask her to do something that she doesn't want to do, she hides when she knows she has done something wrong, and maybe most hilarious/enraging, for awhile - every time I would scold her for some of her less desirable traits, even if it was just a stern and slow-mo, "Noooooooooooo" depending on circumstance, she would spray pee out of nervousness/fear/dysfunction (honestly, her history is a little blurry). And going "Noooooooo" when she's spraying pee out of pre-existing nervousness, well that just causes more pee to spray on our off-white carpet. Ahem. I started out getting a quart of the regular (non urine destroyer) version of Nature's Miracle just in case she had twosies accidents as well, and plus the stuff works on all types of stains. I quickly exhausted the quart, and moved onto the gallon jug of the urine destroyer since the majority of new dog's issues came from spraying pee. That problem has gone away for the most part, but once in a long while, she'll still have a mini pee pee accident in the house, and I have to reach for this stuff. A few thoughts: - If you wipe away as much of the pee as you can before using this, it helps out a lot. - It also helps out a lot if you get the pee while it's still warm. If it happens to dry/set, it's not impossible to get out, but it will take a few iterations. - Don't be afraid to saturate the carpet, and secondly, don't be afraid to saturate the carpet and REALLY get down in there with a bristle/scrubber brush (like a dish washing brush) - Give the stuff time to do its magic. An hour is really the minimum, and I find that a day works the best. A damp cloth will help wipe the residuals away, and after that I let the room/area air out by circulating air with a small fan. Overall: Works really well if you're patient and follow the directions, and an extremely good value.

This works!
This was recommended by my carpet cleaner. It really works. I have light gray, almost white, carpet and I have two of my dogs that have taken to marking in the house, large dogs. I got belly bands for them but they still manage to soil the carpet. This product totally removes the urine stains. Don't clean the area first, it keeps the product from working. Just put it on, wait five minutes and then take up the excess with a towel. Don't waste your product by soaking the area, your not fooling the dogs, they still know urine has been there no matter what you do. I got the gallon size so I put some in a squeeze bottle an some in a sprayer. This also easily cleaned up all those old dark urine stains the carpet cleaner could not get out. Just spray a bit on the old urine stain, wait 5 min and rub out. Totally gone. I have a small carpet cleaner machine and I am going to try it in that for the large areas of old urine stains. It will not clean anything else but urine, which is good, so it does not leave a "cleaned spot" on the carpet. I am so happy with this. It would be perfect if it were unscented. The scent is not bad smelling but very strong. I personally find scented products offensive so that may not be a down side for others.

This product is a must-have for any pet owner/shelter/rescue/etc.
This product is a true miracle. I have been rescuing/fostering cats for a long long time. One of the biggest problems landlords and people have with cat is that bad urine smell-Especially in unneutered male cats!!! That is why landlords do not want to rent to people with cats. They do not understand that “Smell“ is actually preventable if you neuter your cat. If your baby is already neutered and it still smells then there is a problem with the litter box that needs to be looked into. There are tons of reasons why kitties and doggies urinate in other places. Once you get those reasons figured out and you are on your way back to “normal peeing” this product will help turn your home to smelling beautiful yet once again I had an outside stray cat Mark his territory something fierce all around my property! It was bad. But with the help of this products we were able to properly remove the smell and a quick trap neuter return took care of the problem I had a door draft blocker that one of my cats was urinating on. Because he could smell the cat on the other side of the door – the outside. I thought the draft blocker was gone. I soaked it overnight and a combination of this product and water, rinsed it well, dried it well, that thing was as good as ne I had a door draft blocker that one of my cats was urinating on. My Chihuahua ate too much spaghetti one night – somebody did not take out the bag of garbage quick enough ahem- and little Hercules puked all over the floor towel in the bathroom. This product helps get the smell and the stain out of the towel. I put this product in a bottle with water. Basically half and half. And I use the spray bottle whenever there is a little accident for smell that needs to be taken care of with a quickness. It really is a miracle worker
I have three dogs, and I don't think anyone I know needs Urine Destroyer as much as I do. I had several wretched, rank old urine stains on my bedroom carpet. My dogs are mostly potty trained, but my dachshund occasionally likes to sneak into the bedroom to relieve herself. I have a nice tan berber carpet that I chose because the shade would hide dirt, but I didn't anticipate that it would also hide the occasional pee accident. I tried EVERYTHING to get the stain out-- white vinegar, soap, hot water, repeatedly shampooing the carpet, all the normal home remedies. I had almost given up until my mother recommended Nature's Miracle. I used the entire gallon bottle to completely saturate the problem areas of the carpet. I used the top of a Rubbermaid tote to push and pull the liquid around the carpet so the areas were fully covered. I then allowed the liquid to sit for about an hour and a half. I closed the bedroom door and went and watched Netflix. Then, I used my carpet shampooer to suck up the excess liquid and shampooed/rinsed my carpet as usual. It smelled incredibly fresh and there was NO trace of urine or ammonia smell. I was blown away. I left a fan on facing the carpet on the floor to let it dry over the next day or so. It's been 3 days and there is NO urine smell. I am over the moon! I was so worried thinking that the carpet had been completely destroyed--I didn't even want to *think* about how expensive it would be to move the furniture and replace the carpet and pad. I'm so glad I bought this!

Great for cats who have picked a spot in your house to pee.
I have 3 male cats. Sounds fun, huh? They're very picky and/or lazy and have always found somewhere in the house they'd rather pee rather than going in their litter box. We recently moved to a new house with NEW carpet. They had a few choice locations where they would pee. Right outside the upstairs bathroom was one of them. Even though there was a perfectly clean litter box just inside the door. I didn't notice they were doing it there at first, until I started noticing these little off white foam-like "balls". I have no idea what they are, we never got those at the last house we lived in. But I'm guessing something to do with bacteria growth. It looked like some sort of disgusting science experiment. I tried everything. Scrubbing, soaking with vinegar, etc. Then I (silly me) bought a small bottle of this stuff from the pet store. It was not enough. Eventually I ordered more from amazon. I poured an entire gallon onto that whole corner (probably about 9 sq feet), let it sit then used several towels to dry it by just laying the towel on the wet spots and standing on them. I worked on it for about an hour. Then I let it air dry for several days. When I got down in there, I could still smell it a little bit so I ordered another gallon and unloaded it. Here's the thing. If you don't drench it, it's not going to get to the carpet padding and the floor beneath and your cats will keep peeing there. I did the whole towel and drying routine again. Then once I was sure it was mostly dry, I put random stuff in that corner to keep them away for a few weeks. They've stayed away from it for at least 2 months now and I'm hoping it stays that way!

other than being a nice smelling liquid to help clean up not nice smelling liquids, I don't see it doing that much
it's popular...but other than being a nice smelling liquid to help clean up not nice smelling liquids, I don't see it doing that much. To be specific...my puppy uses wee wee pads and if he misses or some runs off, we grab the enzymatic spray...and I am fats and wildly OCD about cleaning up this and everything (LOL). But...if/when I miss a dribbled stream...my dog will keep having accidents there for days until I run a steam mop over that section. And thats with just one miss being cleaned up by this product. Summary...kinda helpful, I'm still buying it for fragrance...but nothing beats a fast runover with a cheap steam mop/head.
