The Mistletoe Promise

This was a wonderful Christmas tale about a fake relationship based on a contract that Elise and Nickolas sign. It’s to help get them both through the holiday season and all the parties, etc. But what is supposed to end on Christmas Day may end up lasting much longer. Only thing is that Elise has a secret which makes her feel she can’t have any more relationships. This was a story filled with possibilities, second chances and love. Now I need to read the other books in this series.

One of my favorite holiday reads! Beautiful message, surprises throughout. I’ve loved everything I have read by Richard Paul Evan.

I enjoyed this book, I really did. I kind of figured out the “secret” before it was disclosed at the end of the book. That said, this is a rags to riches fairy tale book that has little to do with real life. If that bothers you, there are plenty of other books to read during the holidays. Some books with inspiring true stories of connections made during the Christmas season. This book also deals with two alarming situations that we often read about in the news; one is a parent forgetting a child is in the car & going into work while the child suffers a horrible death. I guess I just prefer books that seem less fantasy & has a plot that is more feasible in real life. For example: traveling out of state with someone you barely know would be unlikely.

A very good read as always. Wonderful details about NYC and famous restaurants. Love and kindness prevail through the book.

Good book

LOVED this book…beautiful storyline and very memorable characters. RPE writes the most wonderful Christmas themed books. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to read the next one!

I love everything about this book. The way he so powerfully and at the same time gradually develops the characters, the beauty of love and redemption is profoundly unfolded. I love the surprises, the depth of emotion. The story is amazingly creative and captivating. it is also not R-Rated which is very refreshing to see such depth and emotion and love expressed in such beautiful ways. I will read all his books. This is my second and they are both two of my favorite books. You won’t be disappointed—it really delivers!

The Mistletoe Promise poses the question--"If you could erase just one day from your life, would you know the day?" This charming love story, while Hallmark predictable, is just as endearing. It's message of unconditional love and redemption is heartfelt and emotional. Often the person we criticize most--the one we can never forgive in life, is ourselves. During life's darkest moments we just need to remember to look up. It's where we find the light. That said, with the book's Christmas release and it's Utah setting, I wish the author had given his message a little more of a spiritual facelift. He missed an opportunity to share the true message of Christmas--forgiveness from the true giver of redemption--our Savior. He is the true gift in a world that values material possessions. However, it's reflective nature makes you ponder life and it's definitely worth reading.

Classic story for this author. You won’t forget this story. No spoilers. So many details that I had to google so many things. The author offers a good perspective of life.

I desperately needed to read a "feel good" book, something mindless and something nice. This book wasn't that--but I didn't choose the wrong story. This turned out to be a fantastic, unputdownable novel that, although supposed to be a Christmas story, turned out to be the best choice for a dark, dreary February day.
