Marathon 2.80/2.50-4" Narrow Width Flat Free Hand Truck / Utility Cart Tire on Wheel, 3"Centered Hub, 1/2" Bearings

I don't normally review industrial equipment on my Amazon personal account, but this bears attention. Our old heavy duty cart got a flat tire when something was bumped that sliced open the tire and innertube, beyond the Fix-A-Flat repair. While I'm a grade A mechanic, I had no idea how this class of rubber is sized. I think it's tread-width x sidewall height, but who knows? No matter, I was able to pull a size off it and hunted for replacement. As it turns out, the optimum search term is "pnuematic tire", and located this one on Amazon, as my usual outlets didn't have one. This was NOT pnuematic, i.e., not air filled but solid. Well, I didn't really have a choice, I would have had to put 2 or 4 new ones on to keep the size correct and not have a 3-legged rocking cart. This was a great choice. It was a perfect fit for the axle bolt, and tracked true without wobble. It is solid, so it won't soften the ride, but we mostly use it in linoleum and carpeted rooms. Highly recommended.

I bought these to replace the tubed tires on my Westco Mega-Mover folding hand truck. There is not a lot of extra room, due to the folding design of the truck. These tires JUST fit, and are about 1/2" more in diameter than the originals, (There true diameter is just under 8 3/4") so they should even be (very slightly) better at going up stairs. Utility-wise, they are great. Much stiffer than I expected, giving about the same cushioning as a tubed tire with around 50 lbs of pressure. The bearings aren't great, but at least they are real bearings as opposed to the original plastic sleeves, and who needs great bearings for a hand truck, anyway? The nuts are tight & there are no sharp edges. A note for Westco hand trucks only: The only downside is that the original axel-bolt is quite a bit too narrow, letting the wheel wobble around. I simply added two layers of heat shrink tubing. You could also replace the bolts, or just let them wobble a little. A low speed, it's not a big problem.

Exactly as advertised. My "bad" that I did not read the axle size and measure accurately. Easily exchanged the rim and all was operational again in half an hour. Product arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Will order from this supplier again.

This will be my first review in over 500+ product purchases. I am only writing this because these tires pose a safety issue. I purchased these tires and installed them on a cart I use at work. Within a few hours, ALL of the nuts/bolts had come off one of the hubs, so the tire parted from the rim and was wobbling freely. I checked the other three tires and all of the other tires were just barely past hand tight (only because they were lock nuts). This poses a safety issue if you are using the tires in any activity: industrial, recreational, etc... If you do buy these tires, I would HIGHLY recommend immediately lock-tighting all the threads (or lock washers) and tightening them down. I was 4 for 4 on poorly tightened nuts/bolts, so I imagine it's a poor build.

Perfect fit!! Was something we needed to help out a disabled person and it was perfect!! Not all good deeds go unseen!
