I've owned several of these over the last few years. The DCC functionality works well, but it's been my experience that they are extremely sensitive to derailing and shorts. Once you get them dialed in, everything works OK. I will note that I've had to return one of these because my trains were constantly derailing. It appeared the problem was the very tip of the arm that swings out to change over to the other track was somewhat "blunt". Also, these seem to have a limited lifespan. If you disassemble the switching mechanism, you'll see there's a tiny spring that holds the switching arm in position. Once these start to get loose, the train wheels will get between the arm and the track and derail. Overall, I think they're a nice addition to my layout and I will buy again.

Excellent ease of use. I have gotten into DCC use only a few years ago and usually take out the trains only for Dec thru Jan. This is my first accessory and it works smoothly with my Prodigy 2 controller. Setting an address was easy and I've had very few derailments. Works perfectly for connecting two loops.

Longer than I thought but I didn't look into it that much before ordering. Dcc switching uses about .4 amps if anyone is looking for that information since I couldn't find it anywhere.

One of the wires on the back was not connected when it arrived. I was able to reconnect it and it seems to be working fine now.
