For Extra Protection, Use Bags Double Bagged for Even Better Insulation From the Cold. Designed for reliable and steady heat release for 40+ hours...Excellent Heat Pack for shipping live corals, insects, reptiles, fish, flowers, etc. Provides an average warmer surface temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit Review: The best reptile shipping heat source. - One of the only heat packs I get for shipping reptiles. The price was perfect and work perfectly. I recommend opening and let sit for an hour before use. They are very durable and last a good long time. Review: Keeps corals warm for shipping - These heat packs were used to ship corals. The heat pack was tested in a styrofoam container with plastic bags of water placed outside for 24 hours in 50 F. The initial temperature was 76 of the water in the bags. After 24 hours of being outside the water temp was checked again and it dropped to 72 F. One thing this heat pack that I really liked what the adhesive tape on one side. This feature allowed me to not have to tape it myself. It also allows you to know which side the heat comes out which is the non adhesive side. So if you’re not reading the instructions that would help. After 24 hours the heat of the heat pack did slightly dissipate but that is to be expected. I shipped a coral to Maryland from California. The water in styrofoam dropped from 76 to 72 F. But the weather in Maryland was like 45 F. Corals are shipped next day. Would buy this product and recommend this product to any buyer.

Works like a charm for reptile transport
Used for a cross-country trip with 2 reptiles - Kenyan Sand Boa and a Ball Python - and it kept them pretty snug and safe. Each pack lasted about a day at full strength and kept their enclosure above the exterior ambient temperature. Around Colorado and Utah, one pack wasn't enough and I had to throw 2 in but other than that these work just as I remember in my time at PetSmart. Just gotta remember to shake the little buggers out really good to ensure you get a full effect and make sure to wrap it in newspaper and avoid direct contact with skin or scales if you're transporting reptiles. Left unattended, it could cause a burn.

Complete garbage. Produced no heat.
Didn't work. Didn't get warm. Didn't try them until after the return window closed, and now I'm out $15.

Haven't had to use them yet
Bought these for emergency power outages for our reptiles. Haven't had to use them yet but love knowing I have them on hand.

Great in a Pinch
Very nice! Takes a minute to heat up, and definitely doesn't last 40 hours (more like 24?) but my reptiles were kept warm in an emergency power outage and that's what's important.

Bought these to keep our leopard gecko comfortable during our cross country move, but only one of them actually worked. Very disappointing.
