Oster Buffet Server Warming Tray | Triple Tray, 2.5 Quart, Stainless Steel

I ordered this buffet server to help take some of the stress out of preparing a Thanksgiving feast for several people and I used it for the first time yesterday. I researched several brands before settling on Oster. I've had excellent luck with the Oster brand in everything from toaster ovens to blenders so . . . First of all, read the instructions when your unit arrives. You will see that an electrical smell is expected when the unit is heated for the first time. The instructions recommend that you plug it in and heat it up until the smell dissipates. We followed these instructions. When we brought the unit out and plugged it in to use it for the first time, we had a perfectly functioning unit with no surprises. The instructions also explain that this unit is strictly for keeping cooked foods warm - when placed into the chafing pans the food should already be fully cooked and hot. I used all three of the stainless steel 2.5 quart compartments. One had baked potato wedges in it, one had turkey and stuffing in it, and one had crispy baked dressing in it. Everything stayed warm, moist, and yummy. We started out with the unit turned on high and placed the potatoes and crispy dressing directly out of the oven into the compartments. Once the turkey was carved and the stuffing removed, we placed those items in the third compartment and then turned the unit down to low where it stayed until dinner was over and we turned the unit off. I could not have been happier with the performance of this appliance. It performed exactly as I was hoping; no more stress about timing all the various aspects of the meal so that everything was hot when we sat down to eat. Other things I particularly like are the way the lids are made. The way the handle is molded into the lid makes the lids easy to remove and replace for serving, and very easy to wash and dry. We chose to hand wash the lids to help keep them clear and unscratched but they can be washed on the top shelf in the dishwasher. The chafing pans we washed in the dishwasher. This morning I assembled the unit and slipped it back into its box until I get to use it the next time. I can't wait!

This set is perfect for hosting parties. I have used it many times for birthdays, family gatherings, and televised sport events, and this is a hit every time! I love how it has three wells to keep your food hot or warm (depending on preference). It is great quality for the price, and works really well. It is also very easy to clean, with the removable wells and plastic lids. It isn't too heavy, so you can easily move it wherever you need it to go. It is a good size and can take up a lot of room on a small dining room table, but it does hold a nice amount of food, so it works out. I was able to fit about 4-6 chicken breasts/thighs (bone-in) at a recent event we had. It's great for foods like baked beans, or anything that you need to keep warm but don't exactly know how to set them out for serving. Due to the size, it is a bit hard for me to find a convenient place to store it when not in use. The only real complaint I have is that the power cord is a bit shorter than I would like, so it can be difficult to find a place to put it, unless there is a power outlet right where you would like it to go. Other than that, I think this is a great hosting appliance, and I wouldn't change anything about it (except the power cord length)

this buffet server does as it advertises is will. It keeps the food warm. You must put the food in the server pans already hot, but if you do so, you will be pleased. They are not commercial grade servers, they are for home use, and serve the purpose perfectly! They are nice looking, I took a chance a ordered 3 for my Thanksgiving dinner, and they were beyond perfect! I did go back and cover all the food with the lids after all were seated, and then when my guests went back for seconds--the food was as warm as when they first served. I have other more expensive serving dishes that have lids with a place to hold them when serving, I knew I would miss this feature, so I purchasd a lid holder (Spectrum Diversified Euro Lid Organizer, Plate Rack, Chrome) that I placed between the servers and stood the lids up in them with ease. My guest did not have to juggle a plate and wonder what to do with the lids while they served, nor did I have to worry about where to place a stack of lids while my guest prepared their plate. I was so pleased with these servers. The instructions also indicate a bit fo odor and smoke when they are first plugged in. I had that too, but it ddi not linger. Please plan on this, and set up ahead of time--fill with water and let the factory dust and odor go away. Don't forget the very inexpensive price you paid, and the fine job they do for the cost! I kept the boxes and restored for next use. It made storage so easy!

I got two of these warmers for a recent celebration. The price is perfect, they look really professional, they're easy to assemble and clean; convenient and they have a lot of room for the food, which by the way, I made the day before the party and kept in the fridge. The problem I found was that the food didn't warm at all for a few minutes. I was getting anxious about having the guests waiting forever for the meal to get warm. So I had to "Jump start" it by having the food in the oven to 400 F and then transfer it to the buffet warmer, where it was warm for the whole duration of the party (which was several hours), without drying it or burning it. The manual doesn't say how much you have to wait for the food to be warm, or if it's better to have the food already warm rather than cold from the fridge. It also doesn't mention what temp it reaches once it gets hot. It only has an "ON and OFF" button, so there's no way to regulate it. All and all, I think it is way good for the price. My guests were really impressed with how well it looked, as it gives a more consistent look to the party, and keeps it all together in one place. I will use it one more time in a couple of months, and then I will have my final verdict.

Got this a few months ago for the reason that i am going to use it for Christmas. Now i am using it for the first time for christmas eve and it did not disappoint. Food were kept warm without getting burnt and i received and unbox this gem without any defective parts. Love love love it! Would recommend! Good price. You get what you paid for. Only downside is that the trays are quite shallow but still served its purpose.
