VRD-MC6 Compact DVD Recorder

The Sony VRD-MC6 is working great. I tried the Clariviews recorder Amazon sells this item didn't work. Even though the Sony is 12 years old the recorder worked perfectly. The product didnt come with a manual but is very easy to use . Tutorials are online also. I was able to playback on a regular dvd player. Sound is good .Dvd quality is good my tapes are over 35 years old. Look of machine good and easy to use. This isnt a new item . The box was open and sold through QVC in 2012 only reason I know, someone left the receipt in box from 2012 . I recommend this item.

I normally don't write many reviews, but I had to do this one. I love it. I used it to dup 8mm camcorder movies to DVDs using 3 wire A/V (red/white/yellow) patch cord. I did 30 almost back to back. Worked perfect. Having a monitor screen is great too to make sure things are working. Has nice red light to indicate recording. Very easy to use, but read manual before using the first time to double check the setup for your case. Each tape does take time since it runs at the normal play speed of the tape, so about 90 minutes each for camcorder LP setting on tape. Just some comments: Use quality blank DVDs, and I would recommend 1 time use only type (not R/W type). I used DVD+R type. Recorder can actually use about any type. Make sure the settings in the recorder match what you are doing. I set mine to SP for standard quality to match A/V connection input. For other input sources you can go to a higher quality. When you insert a blank DVD you then choose what input source you are using and it confirms to format DVD for that. When it is ready press REC and it waits for input source, press play on camera, and then it starts recording with counter showing progress. Then store each DVD in a hard case away from heat and sunlight to be safe.

I like to digitize vhs tapes for people who no longer have tape players. I connect the recorder to my player and transfer the video to a dvd. Results match the quality of the tape.

Works great. Easy to use, works as advertised. Have tried two other types, which did not work. Very happy with this item.

This device lets people record directly onto DVD. It's almost as simple as a VCR. Any device with RCA output can be directly connected to this recorder. Anything without RCA output needs an adapter to connect it. But with or without an adapter, anything that can play on the built-in screen the device will copy to DVD.

I hope that they really read this review....spent two days trying to get it to work....ended up returning it.........

Box, book and paper work looks used, unit looks unblemished , so I think this might have been a refurbished unit but called NEW.

The Sony MC 6 DVD recorder works great - took me a couple tries to learn the proper sequence to finalize the disc - works great - look forward to years of making many DVD discs I run a cable from the output of my Sony MINI DV camera right to the input of the MC 6 then finalize the disc and add the disc to my library ! Will copy or play on any copier or player ! No editing !
