Orthopedic Physical Assessment

This is a textbook, which I preferred. This book provides complete descriptions of the human body, how a good physician, nurse or other licensed health care provider assesses one's health or one's illness. The graphic images are excellent, in sufficient detail that a layperson can understand them. The information in this book allows a non-medical person to better understand illness and trauma symptoms so that one can ask better questions about care, treatment and rehabilitation programs. There are other references on the market that will suffice for general information, but this textbook provides much more details. Being a textbook, even the Kindle price is very high. For me, it has been worth the price. The reviews on Amazon were very helpful to me for deciding which book to purchase.

I wanted my own copy of the text my physical therapist uses. This book covers everything necessary to understand the specific aims of treatments. Colored photos, X-ray images, case studies, graphs, diagnostics....it is all there. Martianbooks did an outstanding job of inner and outer wrapping to secure my order for shipment. I really love this textbook. We have gotten assigned many textbooks in PT school and this one is the one I have found the most useful. For my ortho class this past semester this book was really great at structuring all the information we needed to know about the different joints in the body. Magee reviews the anatomy, osteokinematics, arthrokinematics, closed pack and open back positions and much more. I also liked the charts on differential diagnoses provided in the textbook as well as all of the pictures that accompany the special tests. Towards the end of the chapter he also includes the specificity and sensitivity of each test (which is really important in knowing how good a test is at ruling in or ruling out a pathology). Overall, this is a great book! I really enjoyed reading it and intend to keep it for a long time!

Here is another book worth it's weight in gold. As a practitioner, can't say how often I need orthopedic reference. This book saves my butt sometimes and is quick and easy to find the information you need in the index and sections. Do not have to scroll through hundreds of pages looking for what you need - can get to it quickly. Keep my Kindle Fire close by during my practice and then do not have to go flipping through heavy books, or carry the books around to different offices (float around often). Best buy for the money.

This is a comprehensive book of all ortho conditions. I found it very useful when studying for my NPTE exams. It is fun reading it in kindle; skimming through the pages have never been so easy

it contains nice and detailed information with lots of pictures which help me understand better for most of hand-on exams.
