Very easy set up and enables AppleTV on the old TV.
Selected this after a confusing look at various offers. This relates to someone with a recent iPhone in the UK. So you get a dongle (transmitter) with a USB -c connector. Plug into iPhone. This drains battery but there is USC-C power socket that you can plug your normal iPhone cable into. Obs you need a plug charger and long enough cable. Note the dongle is a bit hefty but as you are sitting watching TV, not a problem. Older iPhone with lightening connector will need an adapter, good luck. There is a separate receiver. This has a HDMI end with the wireless bit in it, v compact, and a short cable to a USB-A connector that again goes into a plug charger. Yoy may need an extension to this as short and obs an extra plug charger and spare socket. The HDMI end goes into the TV (or monitor/ projector). All this is very easy as plug in dongle, plug in and power HDMI, done. Web site on Amazon shows it all. Then shift TV input channel to the HDMI with receiver in. Screen comes up showing a graphic of set up. There is a small instruction booklet in the pack. Plug dingle into phone and, up comes a mirror of your iphone screen. So, play some Apple TV, yes. You can fiddle with screen display settings on TV if format not optimal. I also noted that depending on the content, the TV sometimes works it out. But, I can now get Slow Horses on my TV via the phone. Channel 4 - not, this is because C4 encrypts the content to stop piracy, or in this case non-pirate. But not very relevant at home as one TV anyway. I also believe Netflix is encrypted so probably no to that. Not an issue at home, but if traveling abroad, you cannot cast C4 to a local TV, i assume. Youtube works well - but it also works well via a Fire TV Stick. BBC iplayer worked, first try had issues but no problem second attempt. ITVX no problem. My5 worked well. If abroad, you can use a VPN to get your license fees worth but as that is on a different internet to the one in your hotel or holiday place, it fails even if TV accepts direct casting. . So I hope that this will overcome the issue (apart from C4) So, verdict, well it is not the device fault as such that some content suppliers won't let you watch as you want. I am impressed that it handles AppleTV i have tried various apps before but non really worked or wanted high monthly fees with promises but no guarantee. This will also enable occasional use of my PC monitor So, worth it? well, my old but good non-Airplay TV can now get Apple TV. Better than squinting on iphone or ipad.

Didn't resolve the problem I originally purchased it for
Works fine with SSD's, but I originally purchased it so I could connect a sata blu-ray DVD to my pc, as it hasn't got the facility to fit it internally. Sadly, no matter what I tried, the Win10 pc will not recognize it.

Works well with SSD & Full size 3.5 inch traditional hard drives, on PC, Mac and Raspberry Pi
I wanted to build a filer server (NAS) for my office network, mainly because I was interested in using a simple Raspberry Pi with the Linux operating system, using OpenMediaVault to result in an easy to use, customisable file server (NAS) One of the problems with this is that you need to connect the drive to the Pi with USB, and many of the cheap hard drive controllers that many USB Sata hard drive interfaces use are unreliable or plain do not work well. I knew I would need 3 of these types of adapters in total, so thought I would buy a selection of ones which where also powered (USB cant really power up a traditional hard drive well), so as they are mostly cheap, I thought I would buy a selection. One from Orico, One from Startech and this one from Unitek. The StarTech and this one from Unitek both work great... The one from Orico unfortunately not only did it not work properly (it caused numerous communication errors) but also it managed to damage two hard drives (one Samsung 1TB and one Seagate 4TB drives during formatting, to the point they could not be recovered even by trying to re-partition and format them from the command line in a desktop PC! (Avoid the Orico, I am returning it and will leave a review for it also!) Anyway, this one is great, I have also used it via USB on my PC and Mac, and it just works well... I have just ordered another one to keep in my IT toolbox for whenever I need to quickly plug in a SATA drive. Oh one last thing... The speed on this one and the Startech is absolutely breathtakingly good!

Easy to use Value for money
I normally don't leave reviews for anything but on this occasion I felt it was warranted. I had an external Hard Drive fail on me and this had everything on it and I was expecting a hassle and installing of extra software and setting up with this device. This simply wasn't the case and it was straightforward plug and play with the hard connected to the device it popped straight up and with 10-15 mins everything I needed had been recovered. Bravo excellent product at a fraction of the cost of getting someone else to do this. Thoroughly recommend to all

Simple operation and did as described
Worked perfectly and was simple to operate too which is a huge bonus for me rather than spending hours downloading drivers and getting compatability issues, refreshing to buy some tech which plugged in, connected old hardwire and the content was displayed.

Unitek SATA to USB 3.0, SATA III Hard Drive Adapter Converter
What a fantastic product! I thought I'd lost all my personal files and music from a dead pc tower desktop. I Googled how to take out the hard drive and felt anxious when I plugged in the hard drive adapter to my new laptop whether it would work or not - but lo and behold within a short while I could see Users folder on the computer and there were all my files, desktop items, music etc. Was so happy! Saved tons of money on trying to get my dead desktop tower repaired which would have cost bundles. So pleased I Googled USB Hard Drive Adapters which lead me to look on Amazon.
