I purchased this to replace the lamp holder on a vintage sewing machine. A little engineering of a fixing bracket and solder joining a wire was required to install this lamp holder. After fitting an led bulb instead of a filament lamp it worked just fine providing much better light than the original bulb and holder. Better than factory!

I initially ordered two of these, one worked perfectly fine but the other had 200 Ω resistance on the white wire. It's a sealed unit so no way of checking/fixing the connection, but I thought this was maybe just bad luck so ordered another couple, to use one and return the other along with the faulty one. I've just received them two new ones and this time I tested them before installing... and neither of them have any continuity on the white wire! So that's one good out of four, which has even got my wondering just how good the connection in the working one actually is. However, I need another one to finish a job off and can't find any of this size quickly available anywhere else, so now I've gone ahead and ordered another four, in the hope that at least one of them will work. The rest will be going back to Amazon.
