Battlefield 3 (Xbox 360)

I remember playing this on my PC a few years ago, and by the gods.. was I in for a surprise. I wanted something different in terms of story. This game is a reminder that you can have a good story to a War/Military/Shooter/Action game. The story is conveyed in a linear fashion, and along the way, you have to make some hard choices. You lose some good characters (Spoiler Alert). After watching the final cutscene, you have that feeling that you don't know what to do with your life anymore. But, if you have an Xbox Live membership, you can challenge players around the world. Provided, if anybody is still playing the game.

Awesome game!! Works smoothly on my 4 GB console without installation ( playing on my DVD). Xbox 360 HDD required to install whole game plus multiplayer and HD content. Also it would show better display after installing.

Amazing game and Amazing Multiplayer!!!!

One of the most beautiful graphics on Xbox 360. But if you are looking for better story nothing beats Call Of Duty Series.

Actually I bought it for the single player campaign which is rubbish And the cd for multiplayer was unreadable which I didn't check before the return date... So I am stuck with the rubbish multiplayer and thinking of leaving it

Bestimmt der beste Ego-Shooter der heutigen Zeit. Super Grafik und ein echt geiles Gameplay, eine echt große Abschwechslung zu Call of Duty!

I must start off this review by saying that I have had this game for quite some time now and I am able to analyse how each of the game works and how each feature makes the game better. I start off with Battlefield 3 since this is the item I am reviewing. In terms of when you start the game, I absolutely LOVE how the introduction menu is laid out and the music for the beginning of the game is exciting and thrilling. Now the menu. You have campaign, multi player (requires Xbox LIVE) My Soldier (requires Xbox Live) and settings. Here are the negative and positive about this. Positive: it allows the player a wide arrange of things to do on the menu and it is not boring. Negative: I don't like the fact that there are 2 discs for the game, 1 for campaign and 1 for multi player. Just use one? It is VERY annoying that I have to keep opening the game case each time and put the discs back each time and it is very annoying. Comparing this to MW3, the start of the game (game menu) is very tedious. There's no real exciting music like BF3 and it starts of with a character ( I think it's Soap) talking about modern warfare or something. Not really my cup of tea. When you skip the boring speech, there is a choice of Special Ops (a bit like extra missions), campaign mode and multi player mode. Positive: I like the fact that it is one disc and that it tells you how long you have spent on the campaign mode and multi player. Negative: Its quite boring there's not much to do if you want to do something different and MW3 doesn't offer that. Battlefield 3 wins round 1 Next is campaign mode. At first the prologue was VERY good (BF3) but im very sorry to say this, overall the campaign was awful, it felt fake, there was no realism into it, the campaign did not meet the concept of the purpose of the game (which is war). However the graphics were fantastic and at least the atmosphere was good too. MW3's campaign however was different. CoD series ALWAYS has a fantastic campaign and out of all the CoDs I have had not one failed to disappoint. The story line was easy and it followed on through perfectly from MW2. On that basis MW3 wins round 2. Next up is multi player. Now here is where thing changes. Battlefield 3 on line is amazing! It is very engaging, and especially team death match, it definitely feels like being as part of the team and there is no way I can fault BF3 online mode and the maps are equally good, there is a variety of big maps and medium sized maps so you can kill your opponents easily (in the sense of your skills) and also there is no time limit as such, which is a good thing if time is on your side. However it does take some time to get used to the new controls if you have converted to CoD to BF Comparing this to MW3 the on line mode is very tedious and boring. You die VERY easily, the maps are more or less exactly the same to MW2 and the gun selection is confusing. Team death match I didn't find very engaging and the maps are quite broad so there is no team effort in MW3. Therefore without a shadow of a doubt battlefield 3 wins round 3. (how ironic..) Overall Battlefield 3 is an amazing game, well worth your £25, and if you only care about multi player, waste NO time in buying this and forget MW3.
