The Matrix Trilogy (4K Ultra HD)

I'm at a loss for what to say about these movies that hasn't already been said. They're absolutely amazing films that belong in every action/sci-fi fan's collection. While the two sequels don't quite match-up to the original, they're still a lot of fun. In my opinion, this is the best format on which to own them. This version looks and sounds absolutely phenomenal! Literally unmatched. No complaints at all.

(This review is specific to the UHD Blu-Ray set US region) I'll cut to the chase, the only reason I included "nearly" as a caveat is due to the set not including the Animatrix, which it wasn't advertised to include, but was something I wanted to note just in case anyone assumed it would. Aside from that, this is the most high quality (non collector's edition) UHD Blu-Ray movie 'bundle' I've purchased. Unlike some other bundled sets, each movie is individually packaged, and the set comes in a well fitting, minimal, cardboard sleeve that I didn't immediately want to throw out. Thankfully, this pack comes with multiple commentary tracks per film, which from what I can tell is not the case for the newer 4 film UHD BR bundle. Technically, there are a couple BTS features that were included in DVD collector sets of old that didn't seem to make it to this trilogy set, but it's far better than nothing. Fair warning, the included digital redemption codes for all 3 movies expired back in 2020, so are DOA, but even still given the price and quality of what is included, still highly recommend this set to any fans of the original trilogy that don't want to hold out for any triple digit priced collector's sets that might be out there. 4.5/5 stars

If you're big fan of The Matrix trilogy, you definitely want to get it on 4K Blu Ray. The movie was shot in 2K I believe so its "4K resolution" claim can be debated. However the fact that this is 4K out of the box will save your BluRay player and television from upscaling on the fly, so definitely an improvement. The real upgrade here is the additional blue and green tinting (blue in the "real world" scenes and green in the matrix scenes) has been heavily reduced compared to the DVD and standard BluRay releases. This makes a HUGE difference and to me justifies the price of ownership on its own. As for the aesthetic "shelf factor" this leaves a little to be desired. The spine of the set looks sleek as heck, but I'm not a big fan of the box art on the dust cover. Compare the design to "The Ultimate Matrix Collection" which has an amazing, minimalistic Matrix code rain design or the 10th anniversary version of the first movie and you'll see the design here feels more or less mediocre. Even worse, the individual BluRay cases have this AWFUL box art design, featuring a picture of a rabbit, a key, and a sentinel on the front surrounded by non-shiny Matrix code rain. It looks super tacky, coming from a film franchise that has always had really good box art. Fortunately the movies will be inside the trilogy box most of the time so you'll only see it when taking the disc out to play it. The included digital copies are nice to have, and are redeemable with several movie streaming services. The one code allows me to view the movies on four different services, which is great. The digital copies share the same reduction in blue and green tinting as the discs do. Overall it's a great set if you're a fan, but I hope one day we'll get it in a much nicer presentation maybe if they do a 30th anniversary set.

Amazon absolutely sucks when it comes to shipping movies especially box sets. So just don’t be surprised if you have to tell them to give you a replacement. Other than this the 5 star review is for the movie.

Great Movie Set

Belle qualite a un excellent prix ! Je recommande fortement , le dvd peut etre lu en francais, anglais et espagnol.

Las películas llegaron dos días antes de lo esperado. Pedí por separado dos paquetes de películas en Blu-ray, para que el envío saliera gratis. Es curioso, porque cuando junté ambos paquetes, tenía que pagar tarifas de importación, como unos 180 pesos mexicanos por ambos paquetes. Y si los escogía, y los pagaba por separado, el envío salía gratis para cada uno, y ambos paquetes me llegaron (juntos, pero separados en bolsas diferentes) dos días antes del estipulado. Con respecto a esta trilogía, decidí comprarla así porque la cuarta película no fue lo que esperaba; no debieron haber filmado la cuarta entrega, fue un verdadero asco. Es por eso que me quedo con la trilogía original. En Blu-ray se ven poderosísimas, casi no se nota el grano fílmico. Con respecto a las características técnicas, el audio está en inglés original DTS-HD Máster Audio 5.1, con subtítulos en inglés SDH, francés, italiano, italiano SDH, holandés, portugués y español mexicano. Las tres películas vienen con el mismo audio y subtítulos. Si quieres saber acerca del doblaje, mira el video. En lo personal, a mí no me interesan los doblajes, son una porquería. ¡Excelente servicio, el de Amazon! 😉

Toujours plus que satisfait de mes commandes sur AMAZON,mais le DVD que j'ai réceptionné n'avait pas la version française (Oups, j'ai bien sur ouvert le colis et sans enlever le film de protection du DVD je me suis aperçu qu'il n'y avait pas la version en français!) Tant pis, j'ai repris l'emballage et réexpédié le colis et Amazon m' a remboursé dans un délai ultra rapide! Ce n'est pas cette petite avarie qui m'empêche de continuer de manière intempstive de commander sur cette enseigne!
