Pokemon Crystal Version - New Save Battery (Renewed)

Plays great, saves without any issues. Looks like a freshly installed CR1616 Battery for saving progress. All in all a wonderful purchase, some of the reviews have been hit or miss it seems but this one hit for sure. also: even if the battery does happen to be depleted there are many game stores that change out old and reinstall fresh CR1616 batteries for less than $20. this is still a great deal on the cartridge condition alone. takes me back to 2001.

Product advertised as being renewed with a new save battery installed. The cartridge looked good and game played fine but would not save progress. After contacting seller, they gave the option of returning for a refund or keeping as is. Since we already waited about 6 weeks to receive this game, we decided to take a chance that the cartridge had no issues other than the battery. Once opened up the battery was obviously the original battery and hadn't been replaced. We installed new battery and saving is no longer an issue. Deducted 1 star for the long delivery time and 1 for no new battery as advertised.

Considering how badly the package was wrapped, it came un damaged. And looks like it's in mint condition. Saves too.

Works as advertised with a new battery and game is able to maintain a new save file. Would have given 5 stars if it didn’t take a month to get after multiple delayed delivery dates: Ordered Early September didn’t get it until mid October.

So I will say that it seems that is a hit and miss kinda of thing. I order my copy and it arrived on time but the game came without any packaging just a game in a plastic bag in box. The game looked clean and ran great but did keep a save file. The battery was either not new or not soldered correctly, so the game file would save but would say corrupt at the start menu. I will be returning.

Highly annoyed by the false advertizing. I'm not sure if this product was checked at all outside of being shoved into a game system and turned on. The save battery is absolutely not new (or faulty) because the game will lose the saved data file immediately upon powering off. This also leads me to believe there was not a quality assurance check done after the battery was replaced. Other than that the game works and I intend to keep it. I'll just have to replace the battery myself now.

Authenticate game. Got it in mint condition and plays perfectly with no issues
