Star Wars: The Rebel Files: (Star Wars Books, Science Fiction Adventure Books, Jedi Books, Star Wars Collectibles) Review: Really cool book for a collection - At the beginning I thought I will need to go for a refund because there were no traking updates but it came and in perfect conditions. Just awesome 👌🏼... great gift for someone who loves Star Wars. Review: Attractive to Star Wars fans who don't love to read - These books are really high quality in design, print quality & content. My son (10) loves them enough to read them, even though he doesn't love reading. Nice balance of graphics & text. Nice size. Nice level of "serious" with loads of cool detail, and they aren't cartoony or obviously grade schoolish. I don't think these books are 1 long narrative, so it feels like a more manageable commitment to the reader.

Sophisticated and realistic.
An account of the Rebellion from the perspective of the Rebel command that is realistic enough to make the reader feel present at moments of great import. It's Star Wars for adults, re-dramatizing canon events from a leadership and political perspective. It de-emphasizes obvious exposition of leaders and events, requiring the reader to do some work to understand it all. But the overall effect is fascinating and gripping for Star Wars nerds like myself.

general organa
presented like a composition of historical documents gathered together for posterity, this entry into the series has several heart-wrenching moments. throughout the book, as the rebellion builds, flounders, and blossoms you see the contributions and fears of beloved characters and watch many die through little more than side notes in various intelligence briefings, the Rebellion not able to pause to mourn anyone... it is more emotional than i expected! the stand out contributions are from Mon Mothma's personal diaries and an aged General Organa's scribbled side notes reflecting on the era. honestly this one got to me. a very unexpectly touching and interesting entry into this series & what it takes to build a network of military support in a Rebellion. details Scarif, Alderaan's horrific destruction, Yavin, Han Solo's rescuse from Jabba (which we learn was an unapproved op) and many more important moments in the hard-scrabble building of the Rebellion and the day-to-day practical decisions of Mothma as the military commander.

Good
If you are considering this book, keep in mind it is not a novel. It is more like a combination of scrapbook and field guide that details the history of the rebellion versus both the Empire and the First Order. It includes things like communications from characters like Mon Mothma and Bail Organa, news clippings and headlines from the Holonet, which was featured in the Clone Wars and Rebels animated series, and profiles on the various characters. It also has "handwritten" annotations from characters like Leia and Admiral Ackbar in the margins. Because of the format, and the fact that it is under 200 pages, it is a very quick read and can easily be finished in a day or two. My only complaint is that some of the margin notes can be very hard to read, especially if you are at the point in life where you need reading glasses as the text is very small, and because it is supposed to be handwriting, it is not always very legible. Aside from that, however, it is worth checking out but not something most people are likely to read more than once.
