Daphne's resilience and Miles's steadfast support make this story incredibly relatable and endearing. Miles has quickly become my new fictional boyfriend, thanks to his caring nature and the way he stands by Daphne through thick and thin. "Funny Story" is packed with good quotes and moments that will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. I couldn't put it down and felt so good reading it. This book is the perfect companion for a lazy summer day, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone looking for a feel-good read this season. Don't miss out on this charming, sweet romance! Review: A sweet warm love story! - Engaged to the all too perfect Peter, Daphne is devastated when he reveals to her the night after his bachelor party, that he is infact in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Plucked out of Peter's life, she finds herself sharing an apartment with Petra's ex Miles. What ensues after is a warm, feel good tale about love, friendship and family. I picked up the book, expecting it to be witty, humorous, laugh out loud, deceived by the title perhaps. The beginning promised of all this and so much more. But as I read on, it mellowed to a reflective, introspective tale instead. The characters were warm, sweet and relatable throughout. Their struggles, grief and angst portrayed beautifully. All in all, if you are looking for a warm, fuzzy snuggle under blanket with a hot chocolate, then go for it.Personally, for me, it was a perfect palate cleanser between two intense novels. We all need those once in a while.

Emily Henry never disappoints!
“Funny Story” was one of my most anticipated reads this year, and if you know me, you already know that I’d read and enjoy anything by Emily Henry. This book was no exception. It kept me up late since I couldn’t put it down, but it was definitely worth losing a few hours of sleep. The characters, especially Daphne, were relatable in so many ways. The emotions they portrayed were so raw and real that I found myself feeling like the author could see deep into my soul. The way the author described the characters, their emotions and the various issues they were having was so beautiful that I found myself tearing up many times just thinking about how wonderful the writing is. The character development was done perfectly, and even though the romance was kind of lacking for me, everything else about this book was perfect. One thing that can make or break a book for me is the connection I feel towards the characters, and the author delivered that in this book which is why this book, with its many charms and quirks, will stay with me for a very long time. I hope anyone who reads this book will also enjoy it as much as I did(I’d definitely recommend it). 4.5⭐️

Perfect for romcom lovers
* The story follows Daphne, a librarian, who was soon going to get married with the love of her life Peter. But things were going good until the moment he realised that he was in love with his childhood best friend Petra. Which is why Peter and Petra dumped their partners. Which is how Daphne begins her new story: Stranded in beautiful Waning Bay, Michigan, without friends or family but with a dream job as a children's librarian, and proposing to be roommates with the only person who could possibly understand her predicament: Petra's ex, Miles Nowak. What starts as a devastating situation for both, glues them together, they form a tenuous friendship which might lead to something even better. But Daphne and Miles are exactly opposite of each other. But can it work when they are so different? there's no way Daphne would actually start her new chapter by falling in love with her ex-fiance's new fiancée's ex... right? My review: It was my first Emily Henry book, I had my expectations veryyy high and I'm happy to say that i wasn't let down. I lovedddddd Funny story from the beginning to the end. I was so intrigued by the writing style of Emily 9. The characters were multi- dimensional, there was interesting and convincing sub plots like friendships, sibling relationship, conflicted parental relationships etc. And Milessssss he is my new fictional boyfriend Miles is a green flag • I love this man so much. Miles is a selfless, humble, and sexy guy. Loved the romance and the humour. This is one of the best romcom i have ever read. Period. I absolutely loved annotating this book.

AWESOME!!!
Completed it in 2 days...even though my eyes were burning yet and trying to give up. Awesome novel and seriously I DID LEARN A LOTT FROM THE CHARACTERS. LIKE THE LESSONS WHICH DAFFY LEARNED MOSTLY IMPLIES TO ALL OF US AND....MILES DID SHOW US WHAT "showing interest in someone " really meant. Such a crisp nd cute story i must say.

Emily Henry Never Disappoints 😭
Funny Story might be one of Emily Henry’s most quietly powerful books. After getting dumped for her fiancé’s childhood best friend, Daphne ends up sharing a house with that girl’s ex, Miles — who is messy, soft, kind, and has that calm, golden retriever energy we all secretly love. They’re opposites in every way, but something about their slow, unexpected friendship just clicks. Their adventures start off light and a little ridiculous, but somewhere along the way, it turns into something real and quietly beautiful. Daphne made me feel so seen. Her journey wasn’t just about love — it was about figuring out who she is after everything falls apart. It broke something in me, but also healed it. The way she holds herself together and opens up piece by piece? I felt that deeply. Miles is such a comforting presence — self-deprecating, patient, and full of subtle charm. The banter sparkles, but it’s the soft moments that stay with you. If you’re into reversed tropes, slow-burn connections, and characters who feel like real people trying to rebuild, Funny Story is one you don’t want to miss.
