Great umbrella. More than I expected from an umbrella. Love the fast mechanism and how well it opens up and closes. The inside design gives that little pop of color and unexpected fashion statement in an umbrella. The area it covers is the perfect fit to keep you dry in the rain. The umbrella is compact enough to keep in your purse and lightweight enough to carry around with ease.

Tumella is a great umbrella brand you should definitely check out. Beautiful color/patterned options, & I love the reverse folding so that the wet portion of umbrella is contained inside, allowing you to lay the umbrella down without wetting other surfaces. Opening and closing the umbrella, you can feel how strong and sturdy it is. But How did it do in a windy storm? The winds were strong and the umbrella did flip inside out once during one storm, but retained its shape and functionality. For the second windy rain storm, it flipped inside out one more time. This time, the stitch that holds the fabric to the distal black tip at the outer edges of the umbrella snapped. I was disappointed, but then I remembered the lifetime warranty and decided to put it to the test. I reached out to Tumella via email& provided my Amazon order details and explained the situation. I received a prompt response within a day of my message from Gen, who has been awesome. Before I knew it a new replacement umbrella was shipped out to me! Tumella clearly stands behind their product and honors the lifetime warranty. I look forward to testing out the replacement umbrella during the next rain storm.

It’s slightly more expensive than a drugstore umbrella, but the lack of puddles in your car and the fact that it won't snap in a storm makes it a better long-term investment. It’s really nice and resistant. The one I have was actually superficial hit by the side mirror of a truck; it has a little scratch now, but it's still completely functional!

Very nice umbrella. It was a present for my Mom who is 82 years old. She could not retract and push the umbrella shut to close it. She could not operate it. The umbrella folds down when you push the button to close it but then you have to push the umbrella back together to lock it. The canopy part of the umbrella opens and closes by pushing the same button. The canopy folds down and then you have to push it together by pushing on each end of the umbrella. It has a very tight spring that makes it more difficult to push the two ends together. I had a fairly difficult time closing it. It takes a fair amount of strength. If you are strong, then you may not have any difficulty operating the umbrella.

The Sakura flower design was very pretty and looked just like the picture. The umbrella is a little bit heavy and wide to be cosidered a travel umbrella, but I still brought it on my trip anyway. The last time I was caught in the rain, my previous flimsy umbrella stood no chance against the wind and kept flipping inside out and almost broke. I thought the extra weight/space it took up in my suitcase would be worth it on my extended trip if I didn't have to deal with that. The first day that it rained in Japan, it was also very windy and I was out for about two hours in it. It was wide enough to keep me completely dry and held up pretty well. A couple times I had to change the direction I was holding the umbrella so it wouldn't pop out and one time it actually did. Towards the end, I ended up holding the velcro piece that keeps it wrapped up to help stabilize it. Overall, that aspect wasn't as good as I'd expected with them claiming it to be flip-proof, but it was sturdier than the average umbrella. I went in and out of buildings opening and closing it and it did just fine until I got back to my hotel. When I was closing it for the last time, it collapsed down when I hit the button, but I couldn't push the handle in. I tried to reopen it, but the button wouldn't work. When I got back to my hotel room, I pushed it against the floor as hard as I could and it finally closed. I opened it back up and it got stuck again. On the third and fourth time, it seemed to be functioning properly again. I hope this doesn't happen when I'm out about the next time I use it. Also, the cover it comes with is a little tighter than other umbrellas I've used and takes about a minute for me to squeeze it on - not a deal breaker, but certainly annoying. Unfortunately, since I'm in the middle of a trip outside the US, I am unable to return it. I would look elsewhere for a better wind-proof umbrella. -After leaving the review, I was contacted by the company and completely refunded without having to return the umbrella and they even went ahead and sent me a replacement free of charge. I haven’t been able to test it in the rain yet, but it seems to be opening/closing better than the first one. If you are on the fence about purchasing, I would give it a chance because the customer service was so exceptional. I was pleasantly surprised.

Umbrella works as it should and is compact enough that I can carry it in my purse or work backpack. After a year of using the umbrella, the release button became stuck and I could no longer use it. I messaged Tumella, explained what happened, and they quickly sent out a replacement. This is exactly what their shop said they would do - they warranty their product and follow through with it. Entire process consisted of a few emails back and forth and my new product was delivered as promised. Very happy with the entire process.

Wasn't sure of the quality due to the strong winds here in Washington. Works as advertised, no rain dripping into my car when I close the Umbrella.

I found the button for the automatic opening and closing to be very useful when hands are full and it’s raining. Yes it does take a fair bit of strength to completely close the umbrella extension. However, the Opening and closing mechanism is extremely abrupt and quite loud to operate. I gave people close to me quite a start! The breeze did manage to flip this umbrella several times when I was using it for sunshade when walking and not in rain. I found this umbrella to be quite heavy too - especially for its size. Unfortunately, when carrying the closed Umbrella on my wrist as my hands were full of bags and parcels, I must have inadvertently dropped it or it slipped off my wrist… hopefully whomever finds it gets to enjoy my briefly owned umbrella. 🥹 at the price I paid, I’ll not buy another as I don’t thin out warrants the expense. Cheaper ones will do…

Disappointed. Heavy , difficult to get up & down
