For Photos imports, a DCIM folder helps, but Files sees everything so you can copy and then Add to Photos if needed. exFAT or FAT32 cards tend to be the most reliable for iOS and iPadOS, and large capacities like 64 GB to 256 GB are fine when formatted exFAT. The USB port is for low power accessories like flash drives, not spinning hard drives. If nothing shows up, reseat the card, close and reopen Files, or reboot once. For GoPro users, copy the entire DCIM folder to keep metadata intact. Simple, reliable, and perfect for quick transfers on the go.
