I don't understand "4 test strips". Does that mean I can do 4 separate tests? Doesn't each test require more than the strip?

This kit comes with 1 meter that includes 4 single use test kits. You can do 4 seperate tests with this kit. Each kit can only be used 1 time each. Once you have used all 4 test kits up, then the meter is disposed of as it cannot be reused. The meter is programmed to the test kits that it ships with. Once they are all used up, then the meter is thrown away. If you want to test again, you can order a new kit & get a new meter & test kits each time.

Do I have to fast before taking the test?

Since A1C is a measurement of your blood glucose levels over roughly a 3 month span, you do not need to fast before performing this test.

Why is there shipping cost?....it's an FPO box....no extra cost thru post office

Don’t buy from these people. One of the test kits was no good and they gave me the run around and did not replace it or make it right. No customer service there

How accurate are these self checkers?

In my experience over the last several years these have proven to report A1C to within 0.1 of what you get from a lab test. The ONLY time I exceeded that variance (and I was 1.2 under what the lab test showed), I could trace it back to not exactly following the instructions included with the test kit. I have full faith in these test kits.
