RIEDEL Swan Decanter

Riedel is on a mission to change how we think of decanting. The Boa is part of their line for young wines, they dont say that, but if you watch their videos, and read the site, they talk about it a lot. They say a young wine needs a long time in a decanter to properly open. The theory here is the curves and a fast pour will help introduce air into the wine. They have succeeded with this idea, the curves help slosh the wine around, and the final drop adds another level of agitation. This really helps younger wines open quicker, saving possible hours of waiting. Physically the glass is heavy and seems robust when compared their other decanters. The main draw back is cleaning, mine stays spotted form water deposits, its not a big deal, but you wont be using this thing back to back as it takes hours to totally dry. I would not recommend the Boa for a drinker of very old very subtle wines, the violence this design makes would be to much for something so delicate.

If you love wine, you will love love love this decanter. We collect decanters and this is by far the most beautiful and interesting of the bunch. Word to the wise, practice using it with water - part of the magic is how you have to twist / pour.

For a wine lover this is the most impressive decanter you will ever see or own. If is a piece of art and is almost 2 feet tall. MUST HAVE

This is the decanter you want. Pouring wine is a bit of a challenge as much as filling it up, but you'll definitely get everyone talking about the decanter and the wine will be aired.

I absolutely love this decanter. It is larger in person than I expected. The elegant and unique style are sure to attract the attention of your dinner guests.

Saw this in a Michelin restaurant in Munich and had to have it. Stunning.

Beautiful showpiece. Be forewarned- plan on where you are going to keep this delicate piece. Like all Riedel, seems durable but I wouldn't plan on dropping it.

Super,beaucoup plus beau en réalité que sur la photo ,nous l avons achete deuxieme fois pour un cadeau .Crystal,fait à la main,souffle à la bouche...attention ,pour verser le vin dans un verre ,il ne faut pas l attrapér par le bout tres fin sinon,trop fragile ... La première fois nous l avons vu dans un restaurant étoilé parisien ,on a décidé tout de suite l acheter ..aucun regret .

This is an excellent product but so delicate. I am not sure it can be used for everyday occasions. A very unusual gift.
