It’s a great, reliable cable. I don’t have many opportunities to regularly take advantage of the incredible data transfer speeds, but it’s never failed to deliver on its promises when I have. On a regular basis, I mostly use it for the combo of data transfer and power delivery to use my external, portable display. This is well below its capabilities, but it’s nice to have something that could easily be used for a 4K display, thunderbolt dock, external hard drive, and more if needed. You could use it purely as a charging cable I guess, but it’s VERY thick and very stiff and inflexible compared to the type of USB-C cord you’re used to using, and unnecessarily expensive unless you’re going to take advantage of its data transfer capabilities. In which case, it’s a decent price all things considered. Comparable to competitors and significantly cheaper than Apple! Never had an issue with the connectivity at all, as long as the right ports with the right capabilities exist, you can 100% count in this cable to do its job. It’s not very long and because of its stiffness and “memory”, feels even shorter since it tends to coil up a lot. But that’s sort of the nature of the beast with a cable that can do this much. The price to manufacture one any longer while maintaining these capabilities is not simply linear; it gets really pricey!

I bought the Anker Prime Thunderbolt 4 cable in the 3.3 foot length and I really like it. The build quality is excellent and it feels sturdy in your hands. Data transfer is fast at up to 40 Gbps and it runs dual 4K or even a single 8K display with no problem. Charging is just as good. It handles up to 240 watts which means it can charge a big laptop quickly and keep it powered while you use it. The length is perfect for my setup. Not too short and not so long that it makes a mess on the desk. What I also like is that this cable is easy to spot so the kids or the wife don’t walk off with it and then claim it was theirs all along. Overall this is a high quality cable that does everything it should and more. Worth the money and I would buy another one.

I got a ViewSonic portable screen, given to me by a coworker. Just the display, no cable. I tried a few different USB-C to USB-C cables -- it powers on but doesn't work. Googled around a bit, seems like it needs a Thunderbolt cable. I tried a cheap one that specifically said it was compatible with portable screens, but it didn't work either, so back it went. No compatibility problems here, this cable worked perfectly. Like most, maybe all Anker products, it ships in a paperboard box, in a thin plastic bag (annoying), it was easy to open and un-pack. It's a little thicker and stiffer than I'd prefer, but that's fine. Its long enough to let the display work on either side of the computer -- or if the hotel room has one of those picture shelves right above the desk, it can go up there, too. When you're done, it also comes with a velcro strap to keep the cable nicely coiled. I guess you get what you pay for, eh? This cable wasn't the cheapest, but Anker is usually worth a a little more cost.

Ich habe mit dem Kabel zuerst die Migration von meinem alten MacBook Pro auf den neuen MacBoo Pro durchgeführt und es wurden kontinuierlich hohe Übertragungsraten erreicht (> 200 Mbit /s) aber weit von den 40Gbit/s entfernt - meine Vermutung ist hier, dass dies "nur" bei reiner Datenübertragung (also ohne Handshake, Indizierung, etc.) möglich ist. Aktuell nutze ich das Kabel für die Verbindung von meinem MBP auf den Monitor und da ist die Qualität sehr, sehr gut. In jedem Fall eine Kaufempfehlung, da auch die Verarbeitungsqualität (auf den ersten Blick) hervorragend ist.
