They are pretty comfortable, but anybody thinking of hiking on anything other than shag carpeting should think again. Look at the lugs. Next to nothing. And the sole itself could not be any thinner. I bought a pair of On shoes on a lark, and liked them for their comfort. But there are a ton of comfortable shoes out there, and I can get a great brand on sale and something that will last LONGER for $60. These did not last. As for the "faux" trail shoes, back they go. You need to understand retail. Stores like shoes that sell for retail and don't go on sale. That's what this brand is about.

These are very comfortable well-made shoes, however, if you will be wearing them on anything other than dirt, grass or sand, the soft tread wears out very quickly on rock, gravel or pavement. I have worn them off and on for less than 3 months on a variety of surfaces and the tread is almost bare.
