When I received this (quite some time ago now) the box was not plastic wrapped. I guess that's Trefl's thing. The box was broken and 5 of the bags were split and most of the pieces were just loose in the box. I sent mine back because I had no intention of trying to sort out that mess. I didn't bother with a replacement as I read someone else had the same issue with one of Trefl's 9000 piece puzzles. Pity, because the puzzle looked very nice.
