Not a fan. The image in all but probably the lowest setting is unusable. The tint doesn't match with the lens, so there are sections that appear as tinted round sections, which renders the video unusable. Hard pass.

Those that understand the use of ND filters in managing exposure for video production, will no doubt find Neewers new Variable ND filter for Go Pro a must have item; one filter covering 4-stops of transmission. It eliminates the need to have four separate filters covering those reductions in light, not to mention, as opposed to single stop NDs, it’s infinitely variable between those 2 – 5-stops. What a great idea. The use of Neewers VND for Go Pro becomes all the more significant if the user is familiar with the application of Go Pro Labs optional firmware update that allows precise setting of shutter speed, shutter angle, and can even be used to provide an on-screen histogram. Add to those capabilities an infinitely variable ND filter, and the user has professional exposure control options. Basically, in an overly bright environment, used in conjunction with Go Pro Labs advanced firmware (it’s free), the Neewer VND allows the user to precisely fix exposure controls like ISO, shutter speed and shutter angle to preferred settings. Then, by enabling the on-screen histogram, adjust the VND until the light transmission reaching the sensor matches the desired exposure settings. By such means, image quality is maximized. This type of exposure precision is not necessarily possible with single, non-variable transmission ND filters. Neewer’s VND Go Pro Filter is multi-coated to minimize reflections and the frame is slotted to allow easy access to the rotating ring. Conveniently, the filter has a hard stop at each end of its range to easily identify the min and max values. In addition, the filter is simple to attach; the Go Pro OEM filter twists off and the Neewer VND twists on in its place. Neewer supplies a plastic storage case that can be used for the VND, or to protect the OEM filter when it’s off camera. Also supplied is a microfiber filter cleaning cloth, a useful accessory for maintain a clean lens and filter, and consequently, image quality. In my opinion, Neewer’s VND for Go Pro will allow more flexibility and options for the user, ultimately resulting in higher quality imagery. As an accompaniment to this filter, Neewer also offers a VND 32 – 512 (5 – 9-stops) filter; as a pair, they provide 8-stops of ND, a very useful range. There is also the benefit of a product from a reliable and committed company. Hey Neewer, if you’re listening, how about a magnetic mounting adapter that will upgrade the Hero 12 to the Hero 13’s new magnetic mounting system. Something that will screw right into the Hero 12’s 1/4" x 20 bottom plate mounting threads seems simple enough.

This ND filter is an excellent accessory that fits the GoPro 13 perfectly. To use it, you'll need to remove the GoPro's lens cover and replace it with the filter. Removing the lens is straightforward—just turn it 90 degrees to the left—but be aware that it may be quite tight the first time. The filter fits securely and performs well, with no noticeable color shift. It offers 4 ND stops, which can be easily adjusted using the attached dial on top of the filter. The glass is of high quality, ensuring durability and reliable performance over time. Overall, it’s a great addition to your GoPro setup for achieving professional-looking shots.

I absolutely love this! Neewer always makes great products in my opinion, however I never thought that they would make this beauty here! This is an adjustable ND filter for your gopro! So no more carrying around multiple different lenses and having to mess around with which one to add as what specific time! This has become my go-to aside from my CPL and original gopro lenses! Thanks again for freeing up so much space, time and convenience with making this one little gadget!

Worked good while it lasted, accidentally dropped it and the whole thing got banged up and now waters goes into the lens.
