Amazing audio interface and a nice color!
This audio interface is well worth the money, even over Focusrite or Rode interfaces. I ordered mine white, for looks. Signaling: The inputs/outputs are super-low noise, as advertised. No noise hiss out of my mic, only my background noise. No noise hiss when using the headphone out with my IEM's (gain mode/button off - it works with IEM's, most interfaces struggle with low-impedance outputs). No noise hiss when using my headphones either (gain mode/button on). Distortion is non-present across the board, as far as I have tested - cranking the gain knobs for each. From dynamic mic input to headphone and IEM output; everything gets proper loud and then some. Processing: The latency is indeed low. Everything is handled through a software control app which auto-configures the right firmware based on the device you plug in. That much is said per the user manual, and it is true. Once I plugged my device from the USB-C output into my PC, the app did everything on its own. Additionally, the app allows you to do mixing and routing for all the inputs and outputs on the device (and also change signal quality + buffer). Misc: You get the choice between 'USB C to USB C' then 'USB C to USB A' for power and connectivity, with two cables that come in the box. The mic (or instrument) inputs are XLR/TRS combo inputs, allowing one or the other to be inserted and still work. The headphone output is a 6.3mm TRS jack, the same being for the L and R back-panel outputs for speakers. The device is surprisingly small too, something I did not expect. The option between white or black is something I also adore, I love the aesthetic of white hardware devices, so this was a bonus for me.

Best ADC and headphone preamp in its class by a long shot
Running the E2x2 with the TOPPING P50 solid state power supply is a pure and top notch commercial grade ADC recording setup. - it is extremely solid and noise/ground loop free with the P50 powering it and balanced outboard gear. If you’re recording commercially and need a small setup somewhere that won’t hold you back - E2x2 powered by the P50, external API or Neve style pres etc - ADC conversion is top notch on paper and in practice. For electric guitar and bass guitar, running into a Neve RNDIS > WA412 > FRM RNC 1773 > E2x2 powered by the P50 = cleanest and thickest bass and guitar signals you can get. Period. Cables from WBC (Worlds Best Cables) are top notch. I use Mogami Gold, and they make those to spec with the same mogami cable, Nutrik connectors, and high quality soldering for half the price of a Mogami assembled cable. In short runs, I’ve also found 3 foot Cable Matters cables do a good job for patching as well. All this to say, the E2x2 is an excellent interface with excellent preamps, commercial grade ADC performance, nice features, commendable DAC performance (though not technically as clean as its ADC but still better than anything in its class, especially if powered with the P50), and incredible speaker and headphone outputs! (!!!) The headphone amp, as you should expect from TOPPING is absolutely incredible and such a big step up from entry level interfaces. I cannot overstate its clean and refined, impressively high power and balanced, pure sound. Very simple construction and layout - top notch performance. And the class compliance on MAC means I don’t even need the software installed (unless I want to switch direct monitoring between mono and stereo, everything else can be controlled on the unit and in the midi/audio control app in the Apple OS.) Windows, just install the software and Bob’s your uncle.

Great headphone amp, good dac, and very good line inputs.

Clean sounding headphone amp.
Have been using this little unit for a few months and I have to say the sound is great. Hardly any distortion to none when cranked with good clarity and the build quality is great. Easy to use, setup and overall great value for the money.
