This replaced a junk Black & Decker one that I threw in the garbage, it did not work very good This one is accurate and excellent, read the instructions and you have no problem anchoring things properly

I ha dhope dwith the locating depth specified they'd find studs behind my shower tile wall, but no joy. Probably OK as a finder for druwall, but didn't meet my needs.

It falls short in terms of accuracy and consistency. The biggest issue is that it doesn’t consistently detect studs in the same spot. I can place it on an area, get a detection, and then when I check again, it either doesn’t detect anything or gives a different result. This makes it unreliable, especially when trying to mark precise locations for drilling. I followed the instructions carefully, ensured a flat surface, and even tested it on known stud locations, but the inconsistency remained. It seems overly sensitive at times and completely unresponsive at others. While it works occasionally, I can’t trust it enough for important projects. Pros: ✔️ Lightweight and easy to use ✔️ When it works, it detects studs quickly Cons: ❌ Inconsistent detection, even in the same area ❌ Not reliable for accurate stud placement ❌ Can give false positives or completely miss studs Overall, if you need a stud finder for precise work, this might not be the best choice. You may end up second-guessing every detection, which defeats the purpose of having a stud finder in the first place.

Accurately finds studs and wires. Clear screen, good sensitivity, and simple controls, very helpful for home projects.

Easy to use, thorough detection and safety instructions. In using stud finders in the past, I always was afraid of hitting a hidden pipe or electrical wiring but with this stud finder I had no such worries because it detects wood studs at differing depths, detects metals, and detects electricity and includes clear, concise instructions on how you are to avoid those dangers using this stud detector. Also, it was nice to have instructions, and a troubleshooting quick start guide that were easy to understand and weren't written in microscopic print.

If you are looking for a stud scanner that can look deeper than 1/2 drywall and find a stud then I would keep looking. It was in the ballpark but kept getting false signals.
