What excellent, comfortable sandals these are. I usually wear walking/hiking boots but as the summer has become warmer, I decided to get the lower legs a bit browner, as Nanny always said that you should expose as much flesh as possible to the sun. Of course, she was eventually arrested, but that does not detract from her good advice, it merely shows how narrow-minded some people can be. These sandals are, in a way, more cut-away shoes, but are very comfortable, and tackle rough ground with ease. The toe protection is particularly welcome, as stuff always seems to get under the toes with other sandals, and they fit beautifully. The elastic lace adjustment helps to make everything snug, while allowing the breeze to gently waft around the pedal extremities. They seem well-made, and up to some rough work. Very pleased. Added advantage is you don't have to go to a shoe shop or indeed even leave your chilly, filthy garret. The death of the High Street shop is nigh, thank God. Ps: Nanny is much better now after intensive drug and aversion therapy, but remains in a secure home for the elderly insane.

These are incredibly comfortable and feel nice and solid, excellent foot support but still light and cool to wear in the sun, the sole is rugged and provides a good solid grip.I've worn them for over a week in all condition and have walked over 150 miles and they still look like new.All in all a great buy at a very good price

What a surprise these shoes turned out to be. I have owned a pair of closed toe Timberland shoes for the last 15 years but they have finally given up. I normally take a size UK12 - 12.5 and have a high instep and broad feet. The afore mentioned timberlands are size 12. When the Golas arrived I was dubious about the quality as they were half the price of the Timberlands and half the weight. My concerns were unfounded. I have worn then most days for the last week, without socks and it is as if I have had them years. No chafing or pinching and a nice comfortable fit. It was worth going up the extra size as my big toe is half a centimetre short of hitting the inside front of the shoe. I will be taking them on holiday soon and expect to have cool and comfortable feet.

I bought the Gola hiking sandals based mainly on price, though they did look good in the image. I didn't want to pay over the odds for a pair of sandals that I was not going to walk hundreds of miles in and this pair had good feedback, though I am somewhat suspicious of the way feedback seems to work. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by both the look and quality of these sandals. Once my feet had been in them for 1/2 hour and had moulded to them, I was pleasantly surprised to find how comfortable and light they were, easily forgetting i had them on within a short space of time, they felt that comfy. As for durable, I cant say yet, Amazon never seem to give you enough time to try something before bombarding you with requests to give a review. Quality wise however, they do look well made and I hope that there durability will at least matches their looks. UPDATE: Alas the sandals didn't last the course, all in about 6 months and I don't consider that to have been heavy wear. Instead I bought a £12.95 similar pair from Lidl to replace them

Owned a pair of these for many years and walked many miles around France and Belgium in them. Very comfortable! Buying another pair now as the velcro is getting a bit tired.

They were too small I will be returning them

I was worried when the confirmation email image showed a pair of flip-flops! But luckily, the box that arrived contained the sandals as advertised. They seem a little on the small side (I'm a big size 12, if you'll pardon the expression), but they're new and I'm sure they'll stretch out. They look good and seem well made. However, the test will be next week when they will be worn tramping through the sand dunes of Gran Canaria, so I will try to log back in then to let you know how they performed. So far, 8/10.As promised, an update after my holiday. One, far from being a bit tight, these were a perfect fit. The adjustable velcro strap works perfectly. And two, the sandals stood up to four days of walking on pavements, tracks and sand - and so did my feet inside them. So 10/10 from me.

I bought these as I was working at a canoe base on the river for the Summer season. I had two older pairs of similar shoes, which both came apart, probably due to the type of work that I was doing. Lifting canoes on and off trailers and dragging them on and off a beach is not standard wear and tear. So, I looked for something similar and found these and bought them due to the good reviews. They are very comfortable, but for me the problem was due to sand entering the gaps in the shoe and not coming out completely, even when I tried standing in the river. The grains of sand rubbed one toe bare and made it impossible for me to wear them until my toe healed. A good shoe, but they didn't work for me.
