Ce livre d'anglais est un classique dans les cours de langues. Très pratique et regroupant différents modes d'apprentissage il est surtout utile en complément d'un cours.

I teach ESOL, and have used the face2face series with great success with students who have had university or graduate school educations. It is the most academically oriented textbook I've seen in its approach, with photographs rather than cartoons, exercises that encourage students to figure out rules for themselves based on examples, etc. Cambridge University Press markets this series in the EU, and not, as far as I am aware, in the US. (I discovered it because a German student wanted to use it, and it was the standard text in the Volkshochschule near her home.) Therefore, be aware that it does use British English. For example, students are instructed to "tick" the boxes of a list, and the book teaches "have got" rather than simply "have", but these sorts of things are easy to deal with.
