Not perfect, but perfectly priced.
I chose this to go with my ESB Vader cosplay kit I'd built and used this past Halloween. I'd been using the Black Series helmet until now, but that version left no room for cooling fans and was remarkably heavy on your head. The Jazzwares, since it doesn't have all the internal doodads the Black Series boasts, is much lighter and roomier. And at $79 dollars (get it on sale, don't spend full price!) it was much less painful to cut into in order to install said fans! Pros - lighter and easier to wear overall. Easy to get in and out of with minimal fuss. Eye lenses, being grey, are easier to see thru versus the ANH red-tinted ones. Cons - the inner head strap is flimsy, especially the one going over the top of your head. It unsnaps EASILY. My advice is to find your happy place where it fits, and then wrap and glue that upper strap permanently. As others have said, it's closest to the ESB helmet than any others, but it's not spot on perfect to any particular movie. If you're a stickler for detail, you'll need to mod it a little. At minimum, it needs a paint job, new metal tusks, and new mesh in the grille area. The neck is a bit wide at the back, but I suspect they did that deliberately to make it easy to get on and off. If it bothers you, you'll want to reshape that and close it up a little bit behind your neck. Bottom line: It's worth the price, especially on sale, if you want a decent looking helmet for display or for a costume. It wouldn't pass 501st muster without at least a few mods, but that's a whole different ball of wax anyway.

Great Vader helmet for the money
I just picked this up for $79.00, and I couldn't be happier for the money. The helmet is very nice. It's already painted in a two-tone paint scheme (as it was in the original trilogy) and the dome attachment mechanism is very secure (kinda of a twist-lock), much more solid than Velcro. The previous option for a full-size Vader helmet in this price range was the Rubies supreme helmet, and this helmet is FAR better for the money. It displays very well the out of the box, and doesn't suffer from some bad mis-shaping like the Rubies does. Having said that, there are a few nit-picky things I'd like to point out. First, another review said this was made from the Empire Strikes Back molds, and I'm pretty sure that's not the case. The Original Trilogy Vader helmets are asymmetrical. This is especially noticeable in the triangle of the mouth area where one side of the triangle is longer than the other, giving it a slight "droop" appearance. This helmet is symmetrical. Perhaps they started with a scan of an ESB helmet and then cleaned it up, but it is not a 1:1 match of a screen-used OT helmet. Second, the tusks are not metal, nor is the mesh in the mouth and chin vents. A set of fan-made aluminum tusks and some metal mesh will take this helmet up a notch. Third, the lenses are surface-mounted from the outside, and appear to be vacformed plastic lenses. Again, a fan-made set of acrylic lenses would really improve the overall appearance of the helmet. Finally, the paint job is fine. Not great, but good enough for display. A nice, deep clear coat would greatly improve it. The dome doesn't appear to be painted, just molded in color. In the lighting in my collection room, it seems to have a bit of a gun metal hue to it. Overall, it's a nice piece even with those tiny issues. I'm very happy with it and it has immediately replaced the Rubies Supreme (that I did a LOT of work on to improve) on display in my collection room. There are more accurate Vader helmets available, but at 3 times (or more) the cost of this one. It will make a great base to start with to add those few improvements I've mentioned. One additional thing to note: if you're considering this helmet for a 501st Legion costume, it's not currently acceptable for membership due to some inaccuracies like those I've mentioned above, so do your homework on that before buying it.

Awesome look, great quality
Very happy with this Darth Vader helmet / mask. It looks like the real deal. Wore it last Halloween and received a lot of compliments. It is comfortable to wear and can be adjusted to fit anyone. If you have an appreciation for the character you should definitely consider this piece, it’s worth it!

Looks great, however...
Its a great helmet, however, it is big. Like maybe 33% bigger than the actual helmet (which makes sense, that one was tailored for one guy, this is a general product). Mostly unnoticeable if you have the rest of the costume though. The plastic ratchet strap is a little loose, hard to tighten when its on your head. However, you may think "Oh just tighten it without the dome part on first!" Sure, but putting that dome part on when you cant see the holes to secure it is INCREDIBLY hard, even with another person. I just put it on and then tighten it that way. It also doesnt have the best airflow, the eye pieces fog up a lot, but hey, it looks good, and thats mostly what matters. Looks? 4/5. Comfort and assembly? 2.5/5. But thats what most of cosplay is anyway. Its not like Vader wore the helmet because it was comfortable anyway. Plenty of space for big heads tho, and that also means you can customize it a little if ya want. (probably want some better airflow if ya wear it for a while tho)

It's Very Cool
Being a huge Star Wars fan, this was my first helmet purchase because it was within my budget and it looks great. Someone at the manufacturer must have known about my huge, watermelon sized dome and preset the fit before they sent it because it fit perfectly right out the box. It comes in two parts for ease of use, but I am able to put it on without taking it apart. And something about putting on a Darth Vader helmet instantly makes you talk like him. It doesn't come with the fancy neck piece or sound effects like the Black Edition has, but it's very cool nonetheless. A great addition to any Star Wars fan's collection.

Very nice for the price.
Very nice well made and looks very accurate. I like how light it is. The lenses me need replaced because they are a bit blurry to look through.

An out of the box project mask.
I wear a fitted size 7 3/4 baseball cap. In terms of.how big thr helmet is, it fits me significantly better than the Black Series one I got at Disneyland 2 weeks ago. That helmet, fits well, until you throw in the chin piece, where the electronics sit. It rubs up on my chin and quickly becomes uncomfortable. The Jazwares is roomier for us big-headed types. The notches above the eyes do scrape up against my forehead of the mask and the mask still wiggles a bit when it is loose, which seems to happen a bit easier than it should. The lenses are terrible. They are blurry and I plan to replace them. The helmet came with the dome scraped and scratched up a bit more than a new item should. Good project mask, but not for this price.

Looks amazing, needed work to fit well.
This helmet looks amazing, and it looks huge! Since Prowse (the actor) was 6’7” or so, and this is full size, that’s not surprising. I’m 6’1” and I think it’s ok, haven’t put on the whole outfit yet. The main issue I had was the fit. The adjustable strap in the back doesn’t stay where you set it, and the front is full of protuberances that are not comfortable. This ends up with the helmet not feeling secure and needing to be constantly adjusted, not a good look for a Sith Lord! I solved it (quick and nasty for now) with foam and Velcro. I also mounted an old pair of glasses inside so I can actually see. The foam has enough give that even with the adjustable strap taped, there is enough give to pull the whole helmet on and be secure. So, the helmet looks great, and now it can be worn securely I’m really looking forward to going out in public in the full suit!
