Veterinarian approved, and my box turtle loves it
My veterinarian recommended this for my box turtle as part of a diet balanced with leafy greens, fruit, vegetables, and invertebrates. My box turtle loves the taste of the pellets, and they smell nice and fruity to me. I get a new jar every 6 months, because my turtle seems to get less enthusiastic about them right around that time. They must get a bit stale after a while. When I give him fresh pellets from a new jar, he’s enthusiastic about them again. These pellets were developed by a reptile nutritionist and a reptile veterinarian, so I have confidence in their nutritional value. I highly recommend them as part of a balanced diet for box turtles.

I haven't fed Dottie any of this yet, WIll ...
I haven't fed Dottie any of this yet, WIll update when I see her eat some. I was using the T Rex Brand, but the dog ate the WHOLE container. Bought this in a pinch. We'll see how it goes. UPDATE: DOTTIE LOVES IT! LOL! My picky, little, box turtle baby really LOVES this food. :) It smells good, like apples, and she eats it right up. That's a good thing, because, I have hard time getting her to eat her greens. She bulldozes through blueberries, cantaloupe and berries, but greens, nada. Only cilantro, on occasion. Good stuff. I've just ordered another jar because my pit bull thought it was good, too, and ate the WHOLE jar!!

Eastern box turtle not impressed.
An eastern box turtle shows up for a bit of grub at our house so regularly that we bought some real box turtle food rather than continuing to feed him people food. He tried it, but seems to prefer a bit of steak or ham. A pet turtle, having no other choice, may be more amenable to it but "Lightning" was singularly unimpressed.

Highly recommended for box turtles after years of use
Our box turtles are a bit spoiled and this is the only packaged food they both continue to eat readily (others we tried in the past eventually were consistently refused). The food must be succinctly moist before they seem to be interested in eating. I've found that a little warm water soaks in more quickly than cold. If feeding in a bowl/dish, let it soak up some water before offering it, and if using a flat surface, allow the serving of food to soak up water in a cup before spooning it onto a plate. It also seems to only be good (or smell normal...) for the first hour or two after adding water. We've been feeding this to our box turtles for a few years now, and it's the best thing we've found for them

My Box Turtles love this stuff.
I tried many of the dry pellet type box turtle food available at the big box pet chains. My box turtles ignored most of them. I tried RepCal and they actually come "running" when I fill the bowl. I try to feed them fresh veggies and some night crawlers as much as possible but this stuff is great for when you don't have time or run out of the natural foods. Great product for the price. I order it from Amazon because even with paying the shipping, it's still much cheaper that buying at the pet store.
