This smoke detector caught my attention because it comes from a reputable and long-established brand, and the lightning deal made it an easy choice. I bought two units, with one intended to replace an old detector that came with the house and was likely over 25 years old. As most people know, smoke detectors have a recommended lifespan, and it’s important not to exceed it for safety reasons. Generally, it’s advised to replace them every 10 years or so. Installing the mounting plate was very straightforward and only took a minute using the included screws. After that, you simply insert the detector into the mount and twist it to secure it in place. It’s a very simple process. While cooking, I accidentally set off the new smoke alarm, which suggests it’s more sensitive than the old one I replaced. Overall, I’m pleased with its performance, as it provides reassurance that it’s working effectively and keeping us safe.

This is a great, sturdy smoke detector for larger rooms in our house. It's easy to install. Batteries included! I'm glad I purchased this! Also, glad there is a smaller version for our smaller rooms. When we moved into this home, the smoke detectors were over 10 years old & they were beeping incessantly because the batteries were low. They left wires dangling from the ceiling when we had to remove them. After installing this a couple of months ago, I can tell this is a quality product! Of course, it's nice to have peace of mind for our safety! I'm purchasing another one for our hallway, and I have recommended this brand of smoke detector to my family members for their homes.

My old Kiddie kitchen smoke detector had outlived its useful life and was time for replacement. Picked this one out because of brand and price. Could not be more satisfied. Passed the self test straight out of the box, the mounting bracket holes aligned with the old bracket, and was as easy to replace. On a scale of 1-10 this was a 12 in making the replacement easy.

Works amazingly

My 10 yr old AA battery smoke detectors kept beeping even after replacing them with fresh batteries. They apparently have a shelf life, any who these were the next best thing and screwed right into my old bases so that made things easy. They’ve been installed a year now and no complaints or beeps.

The product claims to live for 10 years and only survived 1 month. Battery is horrible don’t buy unless you are ready to replace battery from your own expense

Easy to install. So far so good. Its been installed for about 2 months and no false alarms.

If you are looking for a smoke detector, go for this one. Buying those cheap gimmicks is not worth it. the one I bought lately, a carbon monoxide detector ( a cheap one) turned out to be a smoke detector that was a dummy with battery, a blinking light and all. It didn't make a noise with smoke all around.

Does exactly what I bought it for: - Fitting it causes minimal damage to the decor (two small screw holes) - The fitting mechanism makes it easy to put up on or take down from the ceiling (e.g. to change the batteries) - It's quite sensitive (I tested it by burning toast) - The hush button is useful if you're doing something that you know will create smoke, as it effectively turns it off for 7 minutes, then it automatically comes back on
