Review: F1 2012 - Lights out, and away they go! - (I am a newcomer to the F1 series and a newcomer to driving games in general so I can't really comment on how this game stacks up against other games like it) This game is extremely fun. I think that's the best way to say it. Obviously I've never driven an actual F1 car but the game feels very realistic, to the point that it is almost a formula one simulator, especially if you take off absolutely every assist (including rewinds). With the assists off the game is unforgiving and brutal, take a corner wrong and you can easily lock up, spin or hit another car or even do all three at once. Look after the tyres or you'll find yourself with no grip and having to drop off the pace so you don't spin out. All just like a real F1 car. While I'm sure it's very possible to play with the assists off, I prefer to play with a few on as I'm new to driving games. With the assists on the game is slightly more forgiving, but it will still punish you very quickly if you get it wrong. Veer a touch too wide on a corner and you'll pick up grass or gravel on your tyres which will reduce braking, if you don't correct for it you can take too much speed into the next corner and go wide or even spin off completely. The harshness of the game means that it feels great when you get it right. When you finally nail that chicane it feels fantastic. I've read other reviews that don't like the fact the tyre wear doesn't scale with race distance anymore. I can see why you'd want it to, the shorter races have less strategy involved if you only have to pit once so you use both types of tyre. But I'm glad it doesn't scale. It makes more sense that the tyres degrade at the same rate for all race distances, and that way you can get used to how quickly a tyre wears out. I highly recommend this game, especially if you enjoy watching F1. 5/5 -DannySpud Review: Still worth getting even if you have 2010 and 2011! - As an owner of f1 2010,11 and 12, I can say that the latest addition F1 2012 is a worthy successor to the excellent titles of 2010 and 2011. Positives -The addition of "season challenge" is a good feature for those who don't have time to do a full season, but want to still feel like they are doing one. Season challenge is a shorter 10 race season that allows you to change teams mid season and is generally a faster paced mode than the "Career" mode. -The sound department has got a big upgrade, engines sound very real and the sense of immersion with headphones on is unparalleled. -For those of you who haven't played previous F1 games, the young drivers test is a good tutorial that doesn't get boring or feel like a tutorial, you'll understand when you play it! I must at this point correct another reviewer on desertcart who said that "the young driver's test doesn't help you unlock teams". Actually, it does. If you get gold medals for your good performance in the driver's test, then you will have a greater selection of teams on offer. -The new "Champions mode" is an enjoyable feature which throws you into the middle of a race where you have to beat one of the 6 world champions currently on the F1 grid. -If you found the single session qualifying too long and dull, then there is an option to do single shot qualifying as it was in the old days of F1. Don't worry though, you can still do the single 20 minute session or the current system of Q1, Q2 and Q3 -Co-op season can now be done on split screen! Now you can do pretty much everything you can do online with the person sitting next to you. I believe that F1 2010 had no split screen, 2011 had some split screen options, and now 2012 has improved on that again -More realistic AI! They actually make minor mistakes, but are actually very fast indeed on the highest difficulty! I struggle to keep up with them whereas I had no problems winning on F1 2011 Negatives (well they're more minor things really) -The option to do practice 2 and 3 is gone, you can only do 1 practice session. I don't mind this, unless is raining and the race is dry and vice versa, then you have no setup time for the conditions! -Unfortunately the penalties still seem a little cruel, especially online in "Sprint". But I don't think there is much that can be done about this. However, F1 2012 now gives you 6 seconds to hand back a place that you took illegally, more like real F1. -It could be just me, but I feel that traction control is never really off, as even with it set to "off" you can full throttle some corners with the DRS wide open, for example, the long right-hander in the second sector in Albert Park Australia. So overall, there are still some little problems in the game, but there have been with the past F1 games also! F1 2012 adds more gameplay modes and is all round an even better F1 experience than 2010 and 11. Oh apart from the nice paddock menu system. That's gone :( But hey, the new menu looks pretty nice I suppose!

Nice game...
... I really appriciated this game. I boughted late after its realise (about on year later, so meanwhole f1 2013 was out) as it was cheaper than the 2013 version. The reason for which I boughted is multiplayer session. Although it is quite a long time since its realise, there are still players, but I do not think that this will last for long. So go for F1 2013, but this one was a good investment for me :)

F1 2012
It's good fun but I have one issue with it, on career you can no longer make the races 3-5laps long you have to do 25% ( I think it is ) which is like 15 laps, I tend to get bored in that time, once you get used to the handling its ok, my first race was terrible thanks to spinning and wearing out the tyres more times than I care to remember. hohum. its worth buying if you like F1

Not keen
Too intense and i am a very keen motor racing gamer. Even have the chair, my own room and the ferrari racing wheel. Sessions too long and lost interest very quickly.

Tout comme les précédants volet ce F1 2012 est réussi et vraiment agréable et avec le volant sans fil xbox l'immersion est totale.

Great game...although as someone who must qualify and finish in first it does take a whil to get through each race.
