EMT Exam Prep, Seventh Edition: Focused Prep Book and Study Guide for the Nremt Cognitive Exam + One Full Length Practice Test

The date is 03/06/2025 so my review is recent. I ordered this book for my gf and she had to take NREMT test THREE times because she has hard time studying. THIS book is worth it!! She liked that it takes the MAIN CONCEPTS of the chapters and makes it easier to understand. The real textbook still had value but she used it more for notes and getting a full understanding of a concept. This purple workbook she used to study and the practice tests on the end of chapters was really helpful in her option. She got her results today and she PASSED. I would say definitely worth the buy you should get this book. *I want to add that it did help her pass but granted she was studying at least 3/4 time a week for at least 3-5 hours so take that into consideration too.

Decent questions Does not correlate with a PCP scope of practice in Alberta. But that was my mistake Definitely a good review book though

It's a great tool to sum up what one needs to know. It's not in detail. One still needs to do their reading in their textbook and do questions affiliated with their textbook. This is just more questions. Which ultimately is great. It's an idea on what you need to know about but not an actual guideline. It did help me pass my emt course which is great. It gave me more questions than what was provided to me in school. Stick your states protocols and know them. National can be vague or not too specific. I will say try the pocket emt for more questions to supplement this and your reading. Because one really needs more questions to learn how to approach scenarios. Also one needs to look at case studies and chapter assessments. These are key to training the mind and applying knowledge from the reading. Note, ems is not social studies or history. You don't regurgitate facts often. You may have to learn how to think on your feet and learn what to do when there's a particular presentation on your patient. Once one learns this method of thinking then there's the language of EMS. Learning the terminology and lingo will help one do report and also understand questions better. Be wary of the words not and except. Other than that I wish you the best and hope you do well in your exams.

This book was recommended to me by a paramedic for passing my EMT exam. I thought it was super helpful. Is a great condensing of the giant EMT book for class. I credit it for helping me pass.

I read this cover to cover during my ride alongs. It’s very succinct. Covers exactly what you need and nothing more, so it only takes a few hours to read in its entirety. I passed the NREMT on my first go, first of my class to do so as well. I highly recommend it.
