Cobra Golf Men's DarkSpeed MAX Driver

I’m a 69 year old 13 handicap. What can you say about the best driver I’ve ever owned that came in at half the price of a Titleist or Callaway? Well made, well designed and so far extremely durable. I now am a full Cobra Darkspeed player having also purchased Darkspeed irons after playing two years with Cobra fairway woods and a few months with this driver. Buy great clubs for the quality not the billion dollar marketing campaign. Go buy a full set of Cobra’s and you’ll stop looking forever.

UPDATE: After using it a few times its a great driver. I had bought a cheap set of clubs and have been replacing them as I play more. As for the driver I can actually say I hit it better than the cheap driver. Still learning how to make adjustments but getting there.

Upgraded to this from my Bombtech 4.0 driver, and it was quite the step up. I make good contact off the tee, but the bombtech driver favored forgiveness over distance. i could only hit it about 240yds carry. After purchasing this Cobra Darkspeed MAX and hitting the range with it, my minimum distance now is 240yds carry. After a couple range sessions, and finding out that the shaft on this Cobra driver was about an inch shorter than my Bombtech, i dialed my swing in. My farthest carry was 290, and that was probably the perfect strike, and ball flight, with a little draw. Without swinging fast, i was averaging 260-265yds carry. My friend that i usually golf with, has the callaway AI smoke, and this driver performs right up there on that level. I did however end up switching the grip to an oversize one due to me having bigger hands. For the price of 300 for a 1 year old driver, this was a no brainer. I was reading and trying to decide between this driver, the callaway rogue max, and the Cleveland High Bore, i went with this one out of asthetics. i tried all 3 out at my local shop before buying, and they all felt close to the same. This driver came with the original Darkspeed head cover and adjustment tool. Its super easy to adjust weights around, and loft. I moved the loft to 9.5 degrees during testing, and it helped me out greatly. If you're looking to upgrade drivers, and don't mind buying new 1 year old tech, give this driver a shot. Cobra is very underrated as far as golf equipment.

Operator error seems to be the problem with this club. I had a persistent fade to near slice with my non-adjustable unforgiving driver, so I just played the fade. My other driver was old and did not seem to have the distance -- but I think it was me, not the club. I adjusted the new DarkSpeed MAX for maximum Hook to counteract the fade. It worked when I was playing weekly in the company league. Many drives were straight and maybe a little longer. After league was over in August, I did not play for over a month. When I played again in October I had a bad, hard slice, with the same club and same adjustments. It cost me distance and several lost balls. I finally pulled out my old fade driver and played it down the left side, which worked but was not what I wanted. So, the adjustment to Hook WORKED and cured my fade, at first. I think after the layoff, my Swing changed. I think I need to spend some time at the driving range to fix my swing... the hook Adjustment is not the real problem. The hook adjustment worked; my Swing changed. Distance was not noticeably longer, but maybe a little.

Nice club, but not for long, it wasn't supplied with a head cover? My fairway club and hybrid both came with covers, I would expect the big stick to have one as well.

Prefect for me. I’m loving the feel, this shaft has a great feel. Hitting the ball longer and in the fairway.

in the description it says club head cover included did not come with one you figure for that kind of money it would be in the package. The drive is very nice though

I'm an amateur casual golfer - my handicap is hitting the ball - was struggling with a wicked slice - couldn't improve it so thought I'd try a high MOI driver - this immediately fixed my slice, very forgiving, sounds amazing and feel 3 inches taller having it in my bag - improved distance over my old ping driver (it was at least 10 years old) - I'd looked at the G430 Max 10K but given the difference in price for the Cobra - thought I'd give it a try and definitely made the right decision.
