Gotta say as an AV integrator this is a perfect bag!
This is a heavy bag when empty, but extremely well balanced once you put your gear into it. I actually use that middle panel for all of my more wonky punch-down/crimpers etc. that I have to drag out on occasion. I keep the heavy hand-tools closest to the back (like any backpacker should) and the lighter stuff by " order of operation" moving rearward. The metal clip/hook allows me to secure it in the van-either to a shelf or through some rope loops I have run through the holes in the cargo wall for just such things. Be mindful though of the space and weight. This is easy to overload like a "contractor trash bag". For all the same reasons. This is the highest grade of nylon weave (1680 Denier) that I have been able to find for travel, gun bags, day packs, camera bags etc. It is an excellent build!! I love it because it does have the extra space that some other bags don't afford to allow you to set it up how you use things, and not have to play "tool Tetris". Just don't try to stuff it full. Also the gap pocket is great for a small impact driver or drill. Or a crap ton of wire, zip-ties, rags, or whatever. While kinda pricey, it is a gamechanger imho! A far better value when I compared it to a more expensive brand-which I would swear was made in the same factory.

Best tool backpack there is!
This bag is TOUGH! I've had it for a week or so now and it has made my work life so much simpler since it can hold all the tools I use regularly. It is heavy as others have stated (12.5 lbs empty), but it is sturdy and durable as hell. I used to drag around a rigid rolling box and that was clunky and a pain in the ass getting it in and our of my truck, but with this I just toss it on my back and go with 2 free hands to carry anything else I may need. It's a bit pricey but it so far seems well worth the price. And the zipper clasps that can be locked with a padlock make it feel more secure if I have to leave it somewhere for a minute. Granted a determined enough person wouldn't be stopped by a lock on the zippers but it is still nice to have. I'll update this review if the bag takes a dump anytime soon but I have faith that this bag will last a good while.

Carry...everything.
I have had this bag for going on 6 or 7 years now. The only thing that has failed was the chest strap. I dont use the panel anymore except for around the house. As an industrial electrician its been pretty great on shutdowns where you need to carry a little bit of everything and still keep your hands free. I love this thing, its the best bag they make, and I hope they never stop making it.

Heavy but sturdy
This bag is really well made and as a result is very heavy by itself. That's a necessary evil unfortunately for being able to carry so many tools in such a sturdy product. I had to take out the center tool caddy in order to fit large tools like my drill and driver but I didn't have enough hand tools to fill up the caddy anyway. If you have a crazy amount of hand tools then the removable caddy would be really convenient but if you have some large power tools then you can't have it all with this bag. On a different subject I thought the backpack configuration wouldn't be that useful and perhaps a bit gimmicky but I have actually used the backpack feature more than expected. To be able to put it on your back while you carry supplies or a ladder and still have a free hand is really convenient. I converted my previous smaller tool bag to a supplies carrier so I wouldn't get all my tools mixed up with cabling supplies. Having my tools on my back while I carry all my supplies in the old bag has been a great upgrade in convenience and carrying capacity which translates to less trips back to the truck which translates to higher productivity which translates to faster job completion and higher earning potential - you get the idea. Even small improvements like this can mean lots of time savings and profit potential when multiplied out over days/weeks/months/years. I highly recommend the backpack form factor for anyone coming from a traditional hand held tool bag.

Great bag, only a few little things...
Firstly, the quality and convenience of this product is very good. It helps to have a place for hand tools while dragging around my benders and Rigid rolling tool boxes full of all my big stuff, and power tools... Weight dispersion is key to sustaining a long and tedious career in construction... The bag itself looks and feels as though it could sustain the brunt of a construction life. It's rugged! I had very high hopes for this backpack, as it looked to have a ton of space for tools. I don't mean to say that there isn't a great deal of room for tools, because there is! I find some of the pockets near the back of the bag are rather hard to access. They seem to be sized with a strap at the top of each pocket, for holding one end of a longer tool - and that's great! Unfortunately, that tough and ridged upper portion of the bag prevents you from easily inserting or removing a longer tool. It's not impossible, but not as convenient as I would expect. I think a bit pricey, and there is some overuse of these little velcro-flap sealed pockets. The removable center portion isn't very handy, or at least I have not found time or need to use it in that way, but as a whole - it is functional, it again disperses your tool load as I said prior, and the quality is very good. -Electrician

Just get this one if you want a backpack
This is one of the most durable backpacks I have ever seen. It is somewhat heavy alone but when packed with tools it still is comfortable to transport. I would have liked to see a large flat space for holding a paper note book or files but there is a good spot if you do work on a tablet. A few solid spots for delicate equipment also. The inside has a insert you can pull out to carry specific tools around a site rather than the whole bag. I am using this for electrical work and holding tools, but would be a great bug out bag. I would have bought this 10 years ago as I spent well over 400$ on bags since then. If anyone pokes fun at you for having this bag at work it’s because they don’t understand owning a quality product or think they can’t afford it. Seriously just don’t east fast food and out of gas stations for a week and get this !

Best tool bag you’ll ever buy!
Im a heavy equipment mechanic that works on anything you can imagine in almost any place you can imagine. This bag has been thru hell and back. Its my go-bag for all my diagnostic tools that i need for basically anything I look at. I’ve kept it loaded down with over 50lbs of stuff for over a year and half now and it makes at least 10 trips in and out of the truck every day. I’ve gone thru several tool bags from other manufacturers and none of them have held up as long as this one has. No broken straps, no blown out bottom, no cracks, rips, tears, anything. The only thing broken on it was my fault, the adjuster slide on the right strap because i slammed it in my truck door, but easily repairable. Occasionally i have to crimp the zipper sliders down, which is also my fault due to there being so much stuff in it. This bag is pricey, but you surely get what you pay for. And the convenience of having a sturdy tool bag to hump across jobsites, leaving both hands free to climb scaffolding, ladders, up and down large machinery and equipment cant be over-stated. If you dont have the luxury of a fixed location to make your everyday miracles happen, like i do, then this bag will serve you well.
