SPH-DA130DAB 6.2-Inch 2-Din Car Capacitive Touchscreen Multimedia Receiver

Wanted Carplay in my Transporter Sportline, had an older DAB/CD Pioneer unit so was able to transplant in just a couple of minutes and all works perfectly. The user experience, whilst being very similar to my old unit, is much improved and CarPlay just makes everthing so much easier and safer, being much more hands-off. If you don't need a CD/DVD player in your vehicle and you have an iPhone then this is gives you everything you need, from a top brand, at a pretty good price. I bought one of the Amazon warehouse 'used' units - it was just like new with full warranty so saved myself £50.

The main selling point for this unit is the very clean installation, with the glass front completely flush with the fascia, giving a clean factory finish. I had the earlier version of this unit the SPH-DA120 in a previous car, and I have to say that this newer updated version is faster and quicker in operation. The old unit would sometimes loose the rendering of the navigation map, just leaving a graph pattern when using Apple maps. That being said since access to Carplay was opened up, I can use Google Maps, or the excellent TomTom Go app. The only minor downside is that since the majority of the World drives on the right, the fixed buttons are mounted on the left of the unit. How much of an irritation this is will depend on your cars stereo location and the length of your arms. You can change the soft keys from the left to the right. The only other minor issue is that you cannot change the initial startup splash screen which you could on the SPH-120, and while this in no way effects the operation of the stereo, it would have completed the installation to match the car.

Works perfectly, would be great if it had android auto support though.

I'm pretty sure this is the cheapest capacitive touch screen infotainment system on the market. I'm not sure why so many are using the resisitive type. The whole infotainment market still has a long way to go and hasn't quite caught up with the the modern phones of today. Although CarPlay on this unit is great, partly because the main processing happens on the iPhone rather than the unit. The actual software on this unit is a tad sluggish but still completely usable. Installed on a Porsche Cayman 987. Worth noting I had to run a wire from the fuse box to supply switched power to the unit. Although most cars should have switched power in the radio loom.

Really nice head unit, dab works great with a dab arial in my car. Got all my amps wired up to it and all the settings are nice and easy to navigate and set for a better audio expirance. Would recommend for both technology and ease of use, plus looks brilliant in the car. Very nice quality all round.

The screen came banged up the corners were dented. This did not effect the screen but just seing the dents is such a shame. Also the top had black scratches suggesting it was used on another car before this. Also came with the wrong screws so I cannot just screw it in I have to go look from store to store for screws. Just buy it from Halfords

Great value for money easy to fit with basic wiring knoweledge. Works very very well. CarPlay rocks.

Si tu coche se ha quedado un poco anticuado, con esta pantalla y gracias al Apple CarPlay, le das una segunda oportunidad. Se escucha muy bien y además tienes navegador a través de CarPlay.

Ausgangssituation: Das noch nie überzeugende und letzlich defekte NoName-Navi (Tristan Auron) im VW-Bulli T4 sollte gegen ein günstiges (aber nicht billiges), stabiles CarPlay-fähiges Gerät eines namhaften Herstellers (Sony, Pioneer, Kenwood) ausgetauscht werden. Anforderungen / Nutzungsszenario: Navigation über Google-Maps , Wiedergabe von Spotify und Podcasts, (guter) Radioempfang UKW analog sowie DAB+, KEIN CD-Laufwerk, großer Bildschirm mit Glas-Touchscreen (capacitative touch, denn die Plastikfolie des resistive Touchscreens des Vorgängers jagt mir immer noch Gänsehaut der 90er Jahre über den Rücken) positiver Gesamteindruck: 1.) Meine genannten Anforderungen und Erwartungen sind erfüllt: Carplay funktioniert einfach nach dem Anschließen über den Lightning-Adapter (iPhoneX mit iOS 13.x), die Menüführung ist intuitiv und stabil. Hinweis: Die Verbindung über Bluetooth ermöglicht das Telefonieren und das Abspielen von Audio-Inhalten über die Lautsprecher (also kein CarPlay mit Display-Spiegelung, was auch nicht vom Hersteller angepriesen wurde). 2.) erfreulich überraschend erntete die Freisprecheinrichtung gutes Feedback von den Gesprächspartnern (bei längeren Gesprächen wechsele ich aber immer noch auf Headset, was aber auf den Fahrgeräuschpegel auf meiner Seite zurückzuführen ist Erfahrungswerte und Kritikpunkte: 1.) Wie bereits von einigen Rezensenten angeführt, kann ich bestätigen: "Echte" Knöpfe mit haptischen Feedback sind für eine "blinde" Bedienung während der Fahrt in Ihrer Bedeutung wirklich nicht zu unterschätzen. Als Bediener muss man jedes Mal die Augen kurz auf das Radio richten, um Einstellungen vorzunehmen. Bei der Auswahl von Musikstücken aus der Playlist ist das ja selbstverständlich erforderlich - aber für die Brot-und-Butter-Funktionen wie Lautstärkeregelung oder den Senderwechsel / Skip zum nächsten Track fehlen Knöpfe manchmal schon. 2.) Display-Helligkeit: Zwar nicht oft aber dennoch regelmäßig herrschen Lichtverhältnisse (helle Sonneneinstrahlung), die die Sichtbarkeit der Bildschirminhalte stark einschränken. Das Glas-Display spiegelt stark und trägt dazu seinen Teil bei - aber hey, that's just physics und der Preis für den günstigen kapazitativen Touchscreen. Wenn ich mehr will, muss ich mehr investieren. Fazit: Alles in allem ist das Radio für meinen Einsatzzweck zu empfehlen und erfüllt die Angaben des Herstellers. Jedem Kaufinteressenten sollte allerdings klar sein, dass ich weder hohe technische Anforderungen habe, noch audiophilen Hörgenuss in meinem alten Bulli erzeugen wollte. Das Ding geht als Google-Maps-Navi und zum Abspielen von Audio-Inhalten von meinem iPhone. Es lässt sich gut bedienen, wenn die Sonne nicht direkt auf das Display scheint. Mehr wollte ich nicht und mehr bekommt man auch nicht.

Ich habe das Radio gekauft, da ich es schon bei einem Kollegen gesehen habe und es ganz gut finde. Ich finde es ist das perfekte Radio wenn man AppleCarPlay nutzen will. Der Service vom Verkäufer war zudem super. Es wurde sofort auf meine Fragen reagiert.
