These are okay, but nowhere near as good as the $50 thread reel I had when I was younger. First the pros: These are very small! My old reel was probably 3-4 times bigger and so definitely a bit more challenging to conceal. The wax balls on these are perfect - just sticky enough to stick on almost anything, but not sticky enough to leave a residue. And now the not so good: My first complaint is that one of the thread reels came with the clamp detached. It looks like it probably fell off during shipping, but that may mean they weren't well secured from the start. Also, the spring in the reel seems to be a bit too strong. It really pulls hard and while testing my one reel with the clamp, the thread broke, rendering the reel unusable. I also could be wrong about this, but I think the thread may be slightly thicker than what I used back in the day. But, those issues aside, these are quite inexpensive and so for a beginner, they are an excellent way to practice illusions without investing in a truly quality reel. Just be careful not to over stress the thread. If you're interested in possibly adding a thread reel to your routine, this is a great way to test it out. But if you're a serious magician, I'd recommend buying a better quality reel.

Everything works however the sting is thick and very reflective. Works well is only dimly lit areas with a black background

I wanted to like this. But it is poorly made and designed. The thread on both was trapped in the cylinder, and it would take a surgeon to get it out and make it work. Good price. I'll update if I get working ones.
