I buy these every year and we use them all winter in our indoor wood burning fireplace. I imagine they'd be great for fire pits and campfires too. They are great quality and you get better, stronger colors than the shaker type rainbow fire crystals. I buy the big package because we use so many and it's much cheaper. Fun for the whole family.

Both children and adults love the colorful effects. When the campfire is winding down and it's getting late, and the kids start nodding off, every one is staring at the fire, throw in a pack and watch everyone's face light up as the all the colors dance around with the flames. Pretty cool.

I didn't have very high expectations for these but they surprised me!! We started a fire in our chiminea and put 3 packets in it. We saw more colors than I was expecting, lots of green, some blue, and sometimes purple! What I was most impressed with was how long it lasted. The colors were showing all the way until the end of our session, about 30-60 minutes. They may have lasted longer but we had to wrap up the occasion. Overall, I am extremely content with the purchase, it made staring into the flames even more intriguing and it was enjoyed by children and adults alike.
