I've been an EC-3 guy for a while, but these connectors are making me transition to XT-60 and 90. The Amass product is excellent: The fit is perfect, the connections to solder are easy to access, and the supplied click on covers fit perfectly and can be removed if you have to resolder. Great value as well. Tip: if you're creating a voltage monitoring lead and adding a small voltage lead to the connection, followed by heat shrink, use a small reamer or round file to enlarge the cover holes. I've created perfect harnesses this way. Thank you Amass.

I have used Dean's plugs for 15+ years in RC planes and RC cars. I find the real Dean's connectors are excellent but expensive, the clones are of very mixed quality. I decided for my RC cars to go with something a bit more robust than Dean's especially as the currents on the bigger motors can really get pretty high. Well I have to say I wish I had switched to XT90s sooner, these things are great. No danger of these pulling apart after a slightly misjudged landing. Easy to solder 12 guage (and bigger) wire into. Plenty to grip onto to separate the battery from the vehicle (unlike Dean's where the wire becomes the lever). These things are great, I'll stick with Dean's for my planes but XT90s from now on for the cars.

Great connectors for RC Lipo batteries and vehicles. Took me a bit to solder them properly. I wasted 2 learning how to solder 10-12ga wire to them cleanly. I used high heat to melt the solder fast without it getting too hot to melt the plastic. It also helps to plug a mating connector in to draw some heat. If the mating plug is already soldered with wires it'll draw even more heat. That worked for me.

These connectors are pretty good quality. Great fitting connectors with good current flow. 👍

Works as it should good too solder

Connectors feel sturdy, and have a very positive connection. (When pulling apart there is an audible spring noise from the contacts disengaging). They do hold up to 10awg wire, and will hold up to the amount of heat needed to solder without deforming. Be careful though, at that amount of heat input the connector can burn you and takes a long time to cool down. 12 AWG is the sweet spot with wire size, and 1/4" shrink tube provides a great insulator while connecting the other wire (if working on live power like my application) and gives a clean finished look with the cap installed upon completion.

These connectors are better suited for high current and voltage than something like a deans connector, and they have the added benefit of being safer to keep around electronics and metal. Since the male and female sides are both inside their own housings, it is much less likely to short out a battery. And depending on your battery type, this could save you from blowing a battery circuit or even burning the battery on fire. With LiPo batteries these days, you never really know, and because they are so powerful, I would recommend changing all your connections to these XT90s... It makes everything easier to work with and safer. (Please learn how to solder the proper connections before attempting any of this... there are certain ways to change the connectors safely without creating a short) I am also using these for my Lithium Ion (21700) solar power bank, and Lithium Ion (18650) CPAP Machine USP Backup. The high amperage means that at 48VDC &90Amps, I can run my solar system up to a 25 Amp Breaker on 125VAC Inverter even if it has a low efficiency ( like 75%)... This makes it very simple and safe to plug and play anything battery or otherwise in my home or during travel with CPAP machine. For Higher DC voltage solar setups, you can get even more from these little connectors, and probably run 3 or 4 15Amp breakers on a Single connection.

I converted my 2 competition truggy 4s packs, 4s bash pack, and 3 x 3s bash packs tonight. I really like these xt90's, they don't heat up on 4 and 6s bash sessions. I have not taken my truggy to track yet but I think they will hold up just fine since that will run less power than my Notorious 6s basher. Soldering these connects is very simple. I set my soldering station to 800c, tin the tip, touch the leads on the backside of the xt90 and feed solder in immediately, they take on solder and stick amazingly well. I will convert all my 3s+ packs and run this for anything 1/8th scale.

Using for 24V distribution in my solar system. For continues use would not load at more then 45Adc Easy to solder with 100W soldering iron. Pre tin the wires before soldering. Stay away for lead free solder. 10awg wire ideal size, 8awg a little big but with a little trial and error solders well. When soldering plug into opposite gender to prevent any pin motion from plastic moving when hot.
