It's simple. It works. That's all I wanted.
For whatever reason I could not get my second monitor working with an HDMI to DisplayPort adapter, so after days of trying things I got fed up and ordered this. It's perfect. Zero setup on Windows 11... you just connect everything, it automatically installs the required driver, and you immediately have a second monitor with an extended desktop from any USB 3.0 port. Not draggy/laggy at all. Perfect.

That... Was... EASY!
I wanted to add two screens to my older work laptop, but only had one HDMI port. I tried a few other adapters to make the second screen work, to no avail. A lot of the other adapters had a lot of reviews mentioning sketchy driver software or issues making things work. This one didn't have any of that, so I spent the extra few bucks on it. I followed the instructions, installing the driver downloaded straight from their website, rebooting the computer, and plugging it in. That was it. No drama, no fuss, no figuring anything out or "making it work". It just works! Fantastic solution to my problem.

This is the one that actually works.
I bought another similar device that was much, much cheaper and followed all the instructions and it never worked. This one, once the driver is installed, successfully extended my desktop to a 6th monitor using the USB port. Nice and compact, made in Taiwan

Works well and easy set up
I bought a portable monitor and needed to connect to my my surface pro Win 10, which only supports USB. It was perfect. I downloaded the drive and everything worked perfectly. Easy set up!

Happy user of StarTech adapter.
Startech USB to HDMI adapter. Nice price, ships on schedule, easy installation, up and running fast. Oddly ghost borders of windows have appeared as I would drag the open window around on another screen. It has stopped do that though. Slight reduction in crispness of clarity is noticeable on occasion. But after a month of use I am very pleased with the adapter. I often us it to watch videos while working on the other two screens. Displayport is not required.

Perfect for triple monitor setups dealing with thunderbolt limitations.
Works exactly as described, was able to turn my thunderbolt laptop (Asus Zenbook A14) from a previously two external-monitor setup into three external monitors. Two previous monitors driven by the thunderbolt DP-alt port from a cheapie docking station, and one driven from the docking station's USB to this adapter to HDMI.

Don't bother with other brands
This is the 3rd USB A 3.0 I tried. This StarTech is the only one with a stable driver. Others would stop working until reboot and had a much slower response on my 2nd external monitor.

Excellent Purchase
This item works as described. As others mentioned, just be sure to download the driver
