Great Keyboard
Edit: I've had this thing for about a year and my opinions have not changed. It's a solid mini-keyboard and definitely worth the price, holding up well. Charge lasts 4-6 weeks before having to plug it in. Touchpad has sort of lost its texture from all the use, but still works well enough. Keys are small enough that they're difficult to type on, but finger peckers / typing novices will find it just fine. Charge indicator has never worked, nor has the low battery indicator. It has always just lit up the wireless LED when charger is plugged in. So the only warning it's going to need a charge is when it simply stops working. Not a deal breaker, but hope they fix that in future versions. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've owned this keyboard for about 6 weeks now and it's an absolute gem for a home theater PC. It's proven durable so far, having four kids tends to put handheld devices through quite a torture test. The backlight LEDs are bright and having the three color options is awesome. I've used plenty of expensive brand name keyboards, and the touchpad on this is among the best. I don't like that there's not physical mouse buttons under the touchpad, but thankfully there is a physical left click button (on the left side of the keyboard) that saves the day. Perfectly usable is how I'd describe it. The keys are small and hard to type on, but nothing worse than what I've experienced on any other small form factor HTPC keyboard. They work just fine otherwise. I really love that the F1-F12 keys are the primary button, and you have to hold down the FN to access the secondary media functions. A lot of HTPC keyboards have this backward where you have to hold FN to use F1-F12 keys at the top, and media keys are the default-- I'm a PC user going back a couple decades, so not having native F1-F12 keys is almost impossible to get used to. This keyboard does it right in my opinion. I'm 6 weeks into it and I haven't had to charge it other than when I first got it. My kids and wife are the primary users and they know to switch the keyboard off (it has a power switch on top) when they're done with it. Switching the power on activates it immediately, I've never had to reconnect the transmitter or do any kind of re-pairing. If you leave it set for awhile with power on, the backlight turns off and seems to go to sleep on its own, but wakes right away with any keypress or mouse movement. It just works every time. The only flaw I've noticed is that when I plug it in to charge, the wireless LED turns on. I can see that there is a low battery indicator, and a battery charge indicator, but I haven't seen the charge LED light up, even with the charger connected. If you have the keyboard switched off or on and plug it into a charger, the wireless LED lights up. I've verified the keyboard is taking a charge by connecting a USB load meter to it in between the keyboard and charger. It draws about 300 milliamps anytime the charger is connected, which tells me it's charging just fine. That said, I've never depleted the battery, so I'm not really sure if the low battery indicator works. But the charging LED certainly doesn't, it turns the wireless LED on instead while charging. Why? I'll never know but since it seems to be charging fine, I won't complain. I'll know for sure when it finally runs dead whether the low battery indicator works, and will try to update this review. In conclusion this is an awesome keyboard and works perfectly for this application. My last keyboard was an expensive Logitech and the charger port broke off a few months in. This keyboard works better and using the touchpad is a much better experience. This has a USB tether for charging (that slips inside a plastic cover) which will likely last a long time if not abused. They also include a USB extension cable in the box so you don't have to put any strain on the short USB tether. The fact there's no charger port to break off is a good thing in my opinion. I really feel like buying a couple more of these just to store away in a closet because I'm sure it won't last forever and they will probably stop making these at some point-- this keyboard is that good that a spare or two would be nice to have and the price is right!

Dual Mode Backlit Keys 3/4 Size
I use computers from media entertainment, purchasing, extreme programming, coding and engineering. It is near impossible to find a touchpad/keyboard combo that is dual mode, rechargeable, large enough to type quickly on and write with, and most importantly, with backlit keys. One cannot enter the bios of computers, laptops or embedded with Bluetooth, the drivers are not loaded, circuits enabled in any bios that I have found. One must have 2.4G or corded. Most of the 2.4G do not have backlit keys. The bad, I suspect the chipset and possibly circuit board are flimsy and flaky. I've only had it a week and this is keyboard #2. The first one got "stuck" in Bluetooth mode and I had to kill all of my Bluetooth circuits, whether paired or not, hit the "repair key combination", turn off, to get it out of Bluetooth mode and back to 2.4G. It did this multiple times so I ordered a replacement/return. So far, the replacement does not get stuck, working perfectly, backlighting working, keys responsive and I can switch between Bluetooth and dual no problem, even after pairing with multiple devices and leaving those Bluetooh circuits on. The Bluetooth circuitry does not the multi-connect function. I can only get one Bluetooth connection and one 2.4G connection to work. That's fine by me but the manual and ad seem to imply it could do two Bluetooth and one 2.4G and I don't think that is enabled on this unit. Also, the charging cable is truly odd, it's not a port but a USB cable but it tucks away, and holds a charge for a long period. If it starts to fail I'll update this review but clearly there is quality control issues with the circuitry in the unit. Backlit keys are a true wonder for writing code and typing in the dark.

I like this keyboard with touchpad, one very small issue.
I have a computer hooked to my TV/surround-sound/home-entertainment-center to use as a streaming platform. I have an old, not-smart TV that does not support apps, so the PC handles all that. Using a PC also has the advantage that I don't have a bunch of bundled apps I don't want (cluttering up my screen/menus), and I can get every stream-system I want, whether they are "partners" with the TV manufacturer or not. I actually have a smart DVD player, but it can only load new apps on it that are from "partners". Nuts to that. * I've used several different keyboards, mice, and keyboard/mice-or-touchpad combinations with it. I definitely like this one the best. * The touchpad is much better than a previous keyboard/touchpad combination and TOTALLY better than a keyboard that had a (tiny) trackball built into it. The only thing I slightly don't like with this new one is the need for two hands to hold the "drag button". I actually have an additional (cordless) mouse with a nice thumb-trackball, attached as well, so I can use either the touch-pad or mouse (windows supports multiple, simultaneous mice), and find each has its advantages. * I like the backlighting. Bright enough. Even enough (not all are). Two solid colors are enough for me. I don't like keyboard colors that change, pulse, swirl, etc., anyway. * I've only use the 2.4 dongle-connection, so can't evaluate the bluetooth. But I'm glad it's there should I ever want to connect to one of my mobile devices. This is part of why I picked this one to buy, in the first place -- to keep my options open. * Battery life seems fine. Recharging is as expected. The auto-sleep is good, although about half the time (when I think to do so) , I switch it off when I am done using it for the day. I don't know if there is any advantage to switching it off, over auto-sleep. I'm guessing switching off saves some battery -- there has to be some kind of active circuit that recognizes a key-press to "wake up"... * I've had this about 2 months, and no problems at all so far. Build quality looks to be good. Hope it lasts a very long time. >>> I like it.

Recommend? Yes. Cheap and glitchy? Yup, That too.
Before I start, WARNING: Some of the negative reviews given to these keyboards are well deserved. If you want a really good keyboard that will stand up to heavy use and abuse, you might want to pay up to five times more, and get another brand. This keyboard does have it's uses though. Despite the negative things I'm about to say about this keyboard, I would purchase another for the light duty applications I task it with. Overall, it's inexpensive and it works (for me). The reason I will stress the negatives in my descriptions below, is I want YOU to make an informed decision. Please keep in mind while reading, that my Brother and friends that I have purchased this keyboard for still own theirs and have not replaced it with a different brand. Even those who's keyboards err... didn't meet the stress test, asked for a replacement and not another brand. That said, please read on. I own several of these keyboards, have purchased them for others, and may purchase another. Likes: Price, price and features. (yeah, I said price twice.) Dislikes: No manufacturing quality control. Some of the keyboards that I own have their own "Character" new out of the box. Some have a tactile "click" when you press a mouse button, Some don't. Press and hold mousepad buttons on some don't work at all (although there is a "work around" button in the upper left hand corner for drag and drop issues.). The right mousepad button on some don't "Press" (although tapping the right button WILL bring up your menus) Sometimes I have to adjust the position of the keyboard to get a better "line of sight" to the computer. If this sounds pretty bad, that's because it is. I have to point out though, that not all of the keyboards I have received have these faults. Just be aware, that there is a percentage that I have received that do. The down side is you never know until it arrives. 1. If you are a gamer, this is NOT the keyboard for you. 2. If you are a typist, work moving a lot of files, or are a heavy keyboard user, this is NOT the keyboard for you. 3. If you are a business owner looking for wireless keyboards for your workers across a network, This is NOT the keyboard for you. Now, the question is, with all that negative stuff, why would I continue to use them and buy more? The answer is, that even though there are are negative issues with some of the keyboards I have received, they are inexpensive and work decently for MY applications. The back Story: I have a mini computer attached to each of the four TVs in the house that I use for streaming both over the LAN and the WAN. (That means I have a local media server where I store the movies and shows that I DVR until I have watched them as well as paid subscriptions to Netflix, Paramount Plus, Peacock and Hulu) Mostly I like these computers, because I can transfer files, and stream across the LAN to any room in the house (with a TV), and because even the newest TVs don't seem to offer onboard apps to ALL of my paid streaming services (and even some free ones). I also like watching Thursday night football on amazon prime Video. (They're great for older TV's also) I have a Rii wireless backlit keyboard (with mousepad) attached to each computer, to access media content through those computers to the TV's. I do use them sometimes for some work across the network, and to access to the internet without having to get up and go into the "office" to use the "main computer". The Good: In spite of some complaints, the batteries on the keyboards that I have purchased seem to last. Although I usually turn the keypads off when I finish with them, the timeout is short and reliable if I forget. I have left them on for days without using them, and have them light right back up and work when I press a key. I like the backlight in low light situations, and it pops back on after timeout by pressing the "light button" at the bottom of the keypad. The USB cable is attached, so I don't have to go searching for one when it's time to charge the keyboard. They are very cheap, and (once I get used to some minor character faults) work well for the little I ask of them. I have only managed to trash one myself (by sitting on it). My brother trashed one by rolling on top of it in his in bed. A friend trashed theirs (it looked to me) by dropping it from a height and having it land on a corner. I, my brother and the friend were happy with the inexpensive (Cheaply made) keyboards and just went for a replacement instead of another (more well made but very expensive) brand. Overall: Cheaply made? Yes. Made for (even slightly) heavy duty? No Will it survive abuse? No Do ALL of them have faults? No Do they work for my friends and I? Yes Would I buy another one based on the application I need it for? yes I hope this review helped you make a decision (for or against) whether or not to purchase this keyboard. In the end, YOU have to make the decision on what's right both for both you and the application you're using it for. Hey! This is Amazon. If you DO decide to make this purchase and it's defective, send it back and order another. Who knows? "Good luck Mr. Phelps".

Was ok, now battery life is less than 2 days. DO NOT BUY
UPDATE as of 5/18/25 After less than 2 years of use, the battery life is awful - it doesn't even last two days before it completely stops working and needs to be charged again. It never warns me that it needs to be charged, just like I mentioned in my original review; it just stops working. I am really disappointed in this keyboard and I would NOT recommend it to anyone. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought this to use for my PC that's connected to an old non-smart TV. Since I usually don't have the lights on, I thought I'd try a backlit keyboard this time. For my other computer/tv combo I use a Logitech K400. It works well, but I have three issues that are stopping me from giving it 5 stars: 1. The track pad goes to sleep if it's been a few minutes since you've used it or the keyboard, so if I'm streaming a show or video and only need the mouse every 15/20 minutes, I have to hit a key before I can use the mouse. Not a big deal, but kinda annoying to me. 2. The battery life isn't what I'd expect. I have another brand wireless keyboard & mouse for my other pc and it almost never needs to have the AA battery replaced. Granted, this keyboard doesn't use external batteries, but I haven't noticed it telling me that the battery is low and needs to be charged (I don't think the 'charge' light lights up when the battery is low), so it randomly just stops working at the most inopportune times. 3. The keys are difficult to type on, probably due to the fact that they are extremely low profile, but I find myself messing up typing more frequently on this keyboard than any other I have ever used. It works well, is great for what it is, but I'd rather have the K400 because of the auto-sleeping mouse on this keyboard.

Great little gadget!
I got this for myself, and my husband commandeered it for his video game streaming! We both like the back light feature. It is nice and slim, and the quality is surprisingly good. It is portable, and easy to set up. It functions well for any of your bluetooth keyboard needs without being heavy or bulky.

unpredictable touchpad responsiveness
Purchased to use with my PC connected to a TV, for supporting use during gaming (which I do primarily with a controller, but do need a keyboard and mouse occasionally). This is barely usable for that purpose, and would be beyond frustrating for file editing or graphics editing. The touchpad simply does not work consistently, from acceptable to laggy to not at all. Also, when trying to click in a scrollbar, sometimes it sends two clicks instead of one. The design is absurd and unintuitive: if you want to click-and-drag, you have to hold in the silly little green button in the upper left while dragging on the touchpad. There is more than enough space to place two mechanical left- and right- mouse buttons below the touchpad like many laptops have. The bluetooth connection mode also seems less reliable than using the included 2.4 GHz dongle, which I hate having to use, because every peripheral I have claims to be bluetooth compatible, but only really work with their own dongle, so that's even more radios interfering with each other. The charging cable is a good length for self-storage, but is impractically short, so you'll likely need a USB-A extension cord. The trap door underneath for hiding the end of the cable feels like it would eventually break. I had to recharge the thing after about 6-8 hours (and that's with it shutting itself off every few minutes and largely not being used). I took at chance on this because, as far as I can tell, there are simply no name-brand backlit wireless keyboards with a built-in touchpad in this timeline. I'm sending it back for a refund.

Three years and still GREAT!
I got this in Dec 2022 and use it almost everyday in my HTPC lounge. Three years for the price is great! It is connected via the 2.4G connector to my Win 11 PC and it has always worked flawlessly. The batt life is about 4 weeks plus and it fully charges overnight. I really like the backlighting on the KB and the way the keys are spaced, and I like the way the trackpad works. The only thing I don't like is I can't turn off the "tap" control, but that is a Win problem as much as it is with the trackpad. Sometimes it is too sensitive to the touch. At any rate, I would buy this again without hesitation. A really well designed and useful piece of tech.
