I bought this to power my UAD2 card when I moved from desktop to laptop for my studio.It works perfectly and was cheaper than the recommended products 👍🏼

This should be clearly written that this doesn't work with GPUs to become an external gpu enclosure - but should be fairly obvious due to its lack of power options on this front.That said, I use it for driving an AIC128D Dante Accelerator card, and it works fine for this.

I am using StarTech.com TB31PCIEX16 as the eGPU for my MacBook Pro laptops 2014/2015to run Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter with my 32inch 4K monitor.Product works perfectly with my old Mac thunderbolt 2 laptops.It also connects well via Apple Thunderbolt Monitor thunderbolt port andvia thunderbolt 3 dock in device-daisy chaining.The Chassis also improves graphic performance and internetbrowsing experience on my new windows 10 laptop with a built-in Intel UHD 620 Graphics.WebGL Aquarium Test showed 90% GPU boost across all my laptops.I installed the AMD Radeon RX550 graphics card that does not require an external power supply.The fan is very noisy on Chassis so I replaced it with Noctua NF-A6x25 Fan, 3-Pin 60mm.I also bought longer thunderbolt 3 cable as included cable is very short.

I use this onsite for live stream production, great piece of kit. The only thing I dislike is how loose the power cable is, one light tug and it'll come right out.
