13339 VPP Apex Pump

Quiet. Doesn’t sound like grinding rocks at full speed. Moves a lot of liquid and should be good for a gpu addition later on. Paired with an alpha cool reservoir and it works a treat.

I got this pump to replace my aging EK vario.. something pump. This is much quieter and the temps are the same, so in my mind, it's a win-win situation. It also cost much less which made it an awesome value. It seems to function the same, only quieter, so that's cool. And I trust alphacool for their quality and durability.

Powerful and quiet. Love the pwm control. Would buy again.

If I could rate this zero stars, I would. I purchased this to replace an ailing EK D5. The first pump lasted less than 72 hours, it somehow got water ingress into the pump body itself and died. Returned and sent a second pump. This one lasted JUST over a month, pump had stopped working altogether; the bottom of the pump was very hot and smelled burnt where the PWM board is but the pump is not seized and the rotor is free and smooth. I ran straight distilled water with Primochill additive, clean loop with no particles or gunk, just a bum pump all around. I have no clue where to start about a warranty for this second pump but I'd honestly stay away from the VPP Apex and stick with tried and true D5's.

I love this pump. Build quality is excellent. I've had both DDC and D5 pumps die due to failure of the ceramic bearing, but this pump smartly isolates everything but the impeller from the fluid which seems like a no brainer in a re-circulating loop application. It is also quieter than the D5 it replaced which is a huge bonus for me. I'll definitely get another when this one dies, but I don't expect that to be any time soon.
