be ready to update the bios. great customer support!.
this mother board does what its supposed to. i did recive the MB with a very old bios version. i updated to the latest on there website. still didnt post. but then called the california office, got technical support and the guy was super helpful emailed me the newest bois version not on the website yet. he walked me through installing it through the ipmi. and it worked perfectly. just be ready to update the bois to the newst version if it dosnt post. everything else works as advertised. using this with a eypc 4564p. 64gb nemix 4800 ram. working perfect.

Works flawless
My board shipped with the launch bios (1.14) and posted no problem with random DDR5 memory I had laying around that wasn't on the QVL along with a 7700x. Initial post took quite a bit but every subsequent one was far shorter. IPMI worked perfectly out the box which I used to update the bios and BMC. Since then its been running for days without issue and offers a huge convenience gain over a traditional consumer motherboard for my home server. I no longer have to pull out a monitor/keyboard/mouse anytime I have to tinker and can do so at my convenience anywhere. Just a tip, if you have compatibility or post code issues, pull the CMOS battery. It worked to make a friends board post that wouldn't initially due to a memory debug code.

Problems, so much time wasted
The board arrived with a woefully outdated UEFI version in October the year of our Lord 2025. and would not boot with a Ryzen 9000 series CPU installed. This shouldn't be a problem for a board with an IPMI since you should be able to updated it from the web management interface, except the one on my board doesn't seem to ever get a IP from DHCP. Stole a 7000 series from another PC in the building to get the UEFI updated. Even after I managed to get the board booting I could never get the IPMI to obtain an IP. Finally got the board "booting" to UEFI on the 9000 series CPU if you can call it that. Takes several minutes to go from power on to entering the UEFI. Gave up trying to set any setting because of the time involved with rebooting to see if they would work. So I'm running an OS with absolutely default UEFI settings and the board will randomly just not reboot with post codes related to memory. Would not boot with a Nemix ECC UDIMM kit, but I could get it to boot with a G. Skill kit at JEDEC speeds. SO. MANY. ISSUES. So much wasted time. Asrock couldn't have put less effort into this board, and here we are more than a year after its launch and it is still terrible. Asrock rack? More like Asrock crap. I would have been better off getting a consumer board and an IP KVM than this garbage.

it works, but its a pain in the ass
Its a well provisioned workstation mobo, but the bios is poorly made. it wont talk with most boot loaders. I had to install the OS on a separate machine, then physically move the hard drive to this one. it worked but the bios is terrible and ASRock feels no obligation to fix or care about it.

Concerns Regarding Performance and Compatibility
I am writing this review to express my profound disappointment with the ASRock B650D4U-2L2T/BCM Micro-ATX AM5 DDR5 Motherboard. Despite its promising specifications and compatibility claims, my experience with this product has been far from satisfactory. I initially procured this motherboard with the intent to utilize Micron's 32GB memory modules, which were purportedly compatible with this device. However, regardless of my efforts, these memory modules failed to function as expected on not just one, but two of these motherboards that I had purchased. The motherboards consistently returned error codes 0xC5 and 0x70, indicative of memory-related issues. In an attempt to troubleshoot these issues, I even invested in an additional CPU. Regrettably, this did not rectify the situation. The motherboard continued to exhibit the same errors, rendering my efforts and additional investment fruitless. Furthermore, the BIOS on this motherboard is alarmingly sluggish, a trait that significantly detracts from the overall user experience. The booting process, in particular, is protracted to the extent of taking hours. This severely hampers productivity and falls short of the performance standards one would expect from a product in this category. In conclusion, I am unable to endorse the ASRock B650D4U-2L2T/BCM Micro-ATX AM5 DDR5 Motherboard based on my experiences. Despite its promising specifications, the product fails to deliver in terms of compatibility and performance, and has thus proven to be a considerable disappointment. Please consider this review as constructive criticism. I hope that these issues can be addressed and rectified in future iterations of this product. UPDATE: ordered replcement boards: both deliveries failed

Unable to update BIOS, faulty BMC/IPMI. Beware on 9000 builds.
Coming from a server I built post-covid with an ASRockRack X570D4U-2L2T board, I had high hopes... Paired with 9950X3D, SK Hynix HMCGJ8MGBEB252N 48GB DDR5 x2, the board would not post with P0 code. I knew it was likely the BIOS out of date, which I experienced with prior boards. Fortunately there is a BMC with IPMI access, so I can access the motherboard remotely and update the BMC and BIOS that way like with the prior ASRockRack motherboards. However I could not get this to work. Unable to access the BMC via IP through my router, or direct LAN to my laptop. I even tried Wireshark to find IP address for the BMC without avail. Unable to update the BIOS to the newest version, this board will be sent back. Also of note, if you are using a HBA controller, there is only one PCIE slot that will fit. The other one is x4, which sadly is decreased functionally, especially if you had plans of putting in a GPU. Here's to hoping for a X870 or B850 chipset board from them. This one appears to be out of date and a pain just to update the BIOS.
