![Yogi Bear [DVD] [2010]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91hOvRGwnBL.jpg)

Everyone's favorite pic-a-nic basket stealing bear brings his meal-mooching ways to movies in this live-action/CG-animated adventure starring Dan Aykroyd as the voice of Jellystone Park's famed troublemaker Yogi Bear and Justin Timberlake as the voice of Yogi's faithful pal Boo Boo. Jellystone has been losing business, so conniving Mayor Brown has decided to shut it down and sell the land. Faced with the loss of his home, Yogi must prove he really is "smarter than the average bear" as he and Boo Boo join forces with Ranger Smith to find a way to save the park from closing forever. Anna Faris, Tom Cavanagh, T.J. Miller and Andrew Daly costar in this wonderful new incarnation of Hanna-Barbera's classic cartoon. Special Features A blend of live action and computer animation, Yogi Bear is a lighthearted comedy featuring everyone's favorite smarter-than-average bear, Yogi (Dan Aykroyd), and his pal Boo-Boo (Justin Timberlake). Ranger Smith (Tom Cavanagh) and his assistant Ranger Jones (T.J. Miller) are charged with keeping everything running smoothly in Jellystone Park, which basically translates into keeping Yogi's obsession with stealing people's picnic baskets under control and stocking the pamphlet stand. But when Mayor Brown (Andrew Daly) decides to close the park and rezone the land to allow widespread logging, Ranger Smith must find a way to make the park quickly turn a profit to stop the process and save the park from destruction. Documentary filmmaker Rachel (Anna Faris) happens to be in the park on a quest to film the unusual talking bear Yogi, so she and Ranger Smith team up and create a big centennial celebration that has the potential to save the park. Unfortunately, a crazy stunt by Yogi derails the celebration and destroys any chance of the park making a profit. The question is, was there sabotage involved and is there any other way to save the park? This film is packed full of crazy inventions, silly gags, high adventure, and slapstick comedy, and, while it's really just fanciful entertainment, it does leave viewers with the message that you can't fail if you never stop trying. (Ages 7 and older) --Tami Horiuchi Review: A family film - I purchased this for the sole purpose of entertainment, and I was not disappointed. This film made me laugh! I have always been a fan of Yogi Bear, and this film has surpassed my expectations. It is a great film for kids. The bears are very well animated for the budget of the film, and the combination of animated and real life worked well. Every film has a hero and a villain (The hero being Yogi and Booboo and the villain being the evil mayor attempting to destroy Jellystone National Park!) and Yogi Bear does not disappoint. What do we want from a family film? Humour, Hero, Villain and Bears dancing in a forest to a CD player. Yogi Bear has it all and more. A very good film. Review: Yogi Bear and Rango (Blu-Ray) - This DVD of "YOGI BEAR" was clearly a first rate animation presentation,I am a Great Grandfather and purcase ths and other DVD' for my Grand Childrens children.I alway have a Sneak Pe-view of these films and get almost as much delight as the kid's do ! The most recent purchase was "Rango" (Blu Ray ) with Johnny Depp,this is yet again a super DVD Set. Great family film;
This is a super film for kids. I'm 11, and I still love it. I found some of yogi's comments totally hilarious, and I can't believe some people would give it less than three stars! I can watch it over and over again, and I still laugh every time! I bought the DVD after seeing it at the cinema; worth every penny, I'd say. The plot is a bit obvious, but so what? It's just Yogi Bear - who says it has to be high-tech and the like? If you watched the original Yogi Bear, you'll treasure this.

Yo Yogi!
He's back! The bear with attitude and a penchant for pic-a-nic baskets together with Boboo as his conscience. I initially bought this DVD for my daughter after telling her all about the cartoon characters that were around when I was her age (8), some 30 odd years ago. I didn't think that having real-life with a CGI bear would work, but it does. Justin Timberlake as the voice of Boboo was so close to the original it was amazing. Dan Aykroyd has Yogi (almost) to a tee. We sat down to watch this one very rainy Saturday afternoon and it was like going back in time. The antics were all there, the amazing inventions that hardly ever work, the speed and turn of a pic-a-nic basket disappearing, the look of innocence, it all took me back. My daughter thought he was wonderful and (like me) fell in love with Boboo and she laughed so much with all the inventions going wrong that she was literally crying with laughter. Even my husband eventually had to give up reading the paper to see what we were laughing about. The conservation message that came across was clear but so subtle that it didn't really need explaining to an 8 year old. As we live on a fairly new estate where there is a new country park in the process of being "built" it helped her understand why, when you take something away, you have to give something back. Well done to the makers of this film

my kind of bear
The zip wire and the plane parts were very funny but allthough nobody was hurt it was a daring thing to do.i would like to have the courage to do that sort of thing and not wait to be told I could.the bears were silly but nice and were such good friends they could still tell each other off and not fall out.The good guys won in the end and even the greedy young ranger changed his mind.Yogi is certainly not your average bear and Bubu is a friend anyone would like.

Fine for younger ones
I can't decide to review this on my son's behalf (he loved it) or on mine so went in the middle for the rating and have gone on to explain: My son is cartoon mad and will give most things a shot, he isn't particularly discriminating. But he really did enjoy it, laughed like a drain for quite alot of it, so the film deserves that noted at least. Having liked the TV show as a child, I can't say I really enjoyed what has been done with the film. Not much of a story on the go. It is bright, cheerful and harmless....apart from the fairly standard cartoon knocks and bashes I guess. And of course has a happy ending. Maybe I am expecting too much from a children's film? But having seen lots (probably hundreds) with my film mad son, there is better on the go.
