Excellent lock. It has a few scratches from where someone has tried to get through it, but I've genuinely had this lock for several years. The only reason I'm writing a review NOW is because I'm looking to get another one! One thing the ads won't tell you about this lock, however... It has an excellent heft to it, with a pretty decent balanced grip. So if you're ever in need of a self defense option, it's very easy to draw the lock off of your hip. For warding off the "wildlife" if you will. If you need it.

It would fit better if it were an inch longer, the lock functions well, it is heavy as you expect. It fits many storage areas. The theory of the price doesn't work here, it can be cut or picked if you want something bad enough you can get it, poor people deserve protection, and 3x the manufacturing process would still be profitable, and you would sell more.

So far so good on the lock. I dropped it on concrete once and it still works perfectly.

I'm a angry customer. I ordered 2 hiplocks DX from Amazon I KNOW ITS NOT AMAZON'S FAULT. But the first time ordered the lock. It came with NO KEYS & I contacted hiplock twice by e mail. They never reply back. The second time I ordered the hiplock DX GIVING THEM A SEC CHANCE. The lock & KEYS came this time. BUT NOW THE KEYS DON'T OPEN THE LOCK. THIS IS A BIG SCAM WITH HIPLOCK WITH THE DX LOCK. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LOCK FRI. HIPLOCK. ITS A SCAM. & ILL WARN ANYBODY WHO WANTS TO BUY THIS LOCK. Don't waste your $$$ & I told amazon about this product

Nobody has tried to steal my bike yet, so I can't fully speak to the strength of this lock. But, I can definitely say it's a hefty and well constructed lock. It does seem like it would give thieves some pause for thought. Always remember though: it's a matter of WHEN, not IF, your bike gets stolen. This will help "when" be a little further away, at least. :)

Lock is strong Easy to use Comfortable when attached to belt. Great Price.

Got them for the whole family. Many times my daughter has pointed out to me scratches on the casing showing tampering to no avail. She stupidly just locked her frame to the bike rack at school and got her tires and seat stolen but they couldn't touch the frame. I'd showed her how to properly lock her bike by her rear wheel through the triangle but she was lazy. But the lock is rock solid!
