It does help with energy levels, and fighting brain fog, but in my experience not all by itself. I'd recommend pairing it with a testosterone booster supplement like DHEA and/or Tongkat Ali if you're a man, and a blood sugar regulator like Ceylon cinnamon capsules since this increases your metabolism. The only downside for me was that Acetyl L-Carnitine always dramatically increased my appetite, and made me more irritable since it burns through your metabolism. So a calming supplement like Ashwaganda helped with that, it wasn't enough to stop the increased hunger side effect. So, I discovered that with increased hunger, and fasting the body creates an enzyme called Gherlin, that makes your more hungry, and eat too much, which is one of the things that ruins diets, and keeping weight off. So, you could really ditch all the other stuff I mentioned as long as you combined this with N-acetylcysteine (NAC), which stops the gherlin production, and helps keep the brain fog, and hunger cravings away. The price for this brand is much more cost-effective than more brands of it I've found in healthfood stores. If you're taking this 3 - 4 times a day, you'll need at least this 180 quantity.

I have been using Nutricost Acetyl L-Carnitine for a couple years and will no go without. I like how the service size of this product is 1 capsule and the bottle lasts a long time. However, I recently switched to this brand's powder acetyl l-carnitine and prefer that much more.

My neuropathy has been getting worse over the years. Gabapentin didn't do a thing. The Doc kept increasing the dosage until I was taking a small handful and very little help. I have had some success with Lyrica, but when it gets bad, that only takes the edge off. In despiration I started searching for more ways that might help. I read an article that mentioned that many find Acetyl L-Carnitine was helpful. I searched Amazon for one with the best reviews and I ordered this product. It doesn't eliminate my neuropathy, but it has taken the edge off way more than Gabapentin and even more than Lyrica. Ask your Doc, but mine said it would be fine to take this with Lyrica. I don't always do that, but when the neuropathy is really bad I do and it is a great 1-2 punch! It may not work for everyone, but it has been great for me! I recommend giving it a try.
